ALLEN PARK -- Lions owner William Clay Ford, president Matt Millen and coach Rod Marinelli are all taking heat from fans for the team's 0-2 start. Nevertheless, Millen said Thursday, they're aligned in their belief "what we're doing is the right thing to do."
Millen, who talked with reporters as the Lions practiced for Sunday's game in San Francisco, said he's communicates with Ford "all the time."
"He has high expectations," Millen said. "When you have high expectations, you also get frustrated, and there are answers you want, too."
Asked if Ford gets similar answers to those he gives the media, Millen said: "There's a little more detail. He asks all the right questions."
Millen said he believes in Marinelli because "he's consistent. You see that, it's not changing. He's a straight line, and he'll do what he believes is the right thing to do. What he's doing is the right way.
"The players we picked, we did so for a reason. The same reasons exist. The staff is in place for the exact reason.
"What we're doing is the right thing to do."
