Recent Players/Now Coaches (1 Viewer)

I didn't even know that Jason Garrett (Cowboys QB) and Ben Coates (NE TE) were now coaching. It's nice to see them get some chances in a new role. I know that many coaches played a long time ago, but what other recent players are now on staff?

There's alot

Jets have quite a few

Pepper Johnson is DL coach for the Pats

Mark Bavaro shows up some summers and is given a young TE to tutor/work with and does wonderfully. Word is, that's all he wants to do though.

Ben Coates is doing very good - Winslow and Heiden are both solid TEs

Actually, I think he was just let go, or told to find another job. Maybe he'll latch on somewhere else.

Looks to me like they are retooling the offense. They probably want to give the new OC flexibility on the offensive coaches seeing as Crennel is a defensive coach and probably has very little to do with the offense other than the philosophy.

They're being foolish like many many many owners have been before. They let the coach(Romeo) pick his staff and then just before he's done(he has to win a decent amount next year to stay) they fire guys and pick his staff. The chances of these new guys staying if Romeo doesn't are "slim to none". It's just a waste of time IMO.As long as both TEs are doing well, you go to the next coach looking for the problem and it's not that position coach.

NBD to followup on the Jets one, I'd like to see Gash get promoted+move up like Carthon did years ago. I can't find the article but that seems to be the sentiment of others too.
