:banned: Nice!

It's interesting to see how the game has progressed. The last place WR in receptions in the 1990's had 126 more receptions than the 1st place WR had in the 1970's. That same last place WR in the 90's was better than 8 of the top 10 in the 1980's :lmao:

Thank you for the positive feedback gentlemen. <_<

One man I felt a little sorry for when putting the numbers together was Cardinal WR Pat Tilley. From '76 to '85 he logged 465 catches but missed out on a top place in both the 70's and 80's receptions top ten...

Impressive work by Coles and Kevin Faulk to make their way onto this list. Better career #'s than I would've thought for both.

I really believe that Chuck Foreman redefined the running back position in the early 70s, but his career was short because of injury and the Vikings didn't win a Superbowl and so he is largely forgotten. But he led the league in catching as a running back at least once and possibly twice, which was something completely new.

Lydell Mitchell was the first running back to lead the NFL in receptions when he logged 72 for Baltimore in 1974. I'm not sure that I'd consider Foreman (who was obviously a very good, versatile back) as an innovator at the running back position though.

More evidence why Issac Bruce should never be mentioned as a serious HOF candidate.
Not really. For this list's sake, he simply had the misfortune of being drafted mid-decade ('94).
I was mainly referring to the stat inflation over the decade. He's a product of the era and his longevity as a possession receiver.
I think he's a HOFer. His numbers are pretty similar to Terrell Owens (minus about 50 TDs). But his 91 are still pretty darn good.
