This guy bought 21 FFOC teams and had two of them advance to the final 15. He could theoretically take first and second.....a cool 1.3 million

Yes and I forgot to mention that he has 2 shots at the 1 million over at FFOC. He could walk away with $7,500 and as much as 1.3 million... How would you be feeling??

Wait a minute - He bought 21 teams? So, $7,500 is a Big loss right?

winning your FFOC league nets you 250. he won 7 of his 21 ten man leagues. Going into the vegas bracket he was working at a loss yes.Now he stands to make just under 1.3 million if he sweeps the board.Nothing like playing heads up for 25K

This would definitely be news worthy... What a year... Any questions you guys would like me to ask him?
Scott - a couple of things you might ask him1) We haven't seen the name before in the $$ events (at least WCOFF and NFFC) - how long has he been playing FF and how many $$ competitions had he done in the past?2) What made him decide to enter so many events this year? I believe that in all the competitions together he had a total of 65 teams this year.3) Curious on this and not sure Chad will answer (he is in one of my leagues) - how much did he lay out for all the 2008 entries, and without the big payout on FFOC, will he show a profit?

4) How much time per week does it take to run 65 teams?5) Does he have a full time job or is THIS it being "professional" and all?Seems to me it would absolutely take the fun out of this hobby... I'm sure winning 1 mil is fun as well, but, I don't know.... I'd call the "professional" the guy that consistently does well in a WCOFF style event with 1 team every year - not the guy who has 25 teams and hits on a few after diversifying players.Sometimes I question over 3 Friendly leagues and I've enjoyed the Survivor style maybe a little more lately...

I know from the 1 conversation I've had with him this:

1. He's a PROFESSIONAL SPORTS GAMBLER

2. He had 91 fantasy teams this year. (20 high stakes antsports leagues)

I'm wondering what system he has to correct late minute scratches, etc.

Am on my way out to drink - I mean to a Christmas party - so will have to catch this on the archives - sounds very interesting though.

91 teams

DAMN

Is Chad Schroeder the world's first professional fantasy football player? I say yes. This guy is going to revolutionize the way that high stakes fantasy football is played. I'll bet that we see at least 30 guys next year who take the Chad Schroeder approach of maximizing entries in as many leagues as possible.
It is an interesting possibility. Of course, it will be interested to see the player that buys 15-20 high stakes teams and has an 0 for 20. When you do not make the championship round, you lose a lot of cash in a hurry. Kind of like the progressive slots.

For those who didn't listen to the show (get your schedules straightened out and listen next time, Scott (Team Legacy) does a great job), a few things about Chad's teams this year

1) He has 66 teams (not sure where the 91 came from)

2) His entries for those teams was (roughly) $50,000

3) At this point he has won about $68,000 on all teams - BUT that is without factoring in 1st place in FFPC ($75,000), the FFPC Big Payback ($25,000) OR a large payout in FFOC where he has two of the final 15 teams vying for the $ Million first prize - and where 2nd place would be $100,000 and 3rd place $50,000 (his estimate of the $68K is figuring only 14th and 15th for FFOC teams, so he has a TON of upside without the $1 million.

I am in the WCOFF GridIron League with Chad and he will win either $10K for 1st or $5K for second place (so he will double or triple his $5K entry there with the other league payouts)

GREAT show Scott!

Perry, thanks for the props. The 91 came from me. I was fairly confident that he told me 91 teams on a phone call earlier on wednesday, but when asked again, he said 66 on the show, so I was assuming maybe it was draft teams (set and forget maybe), but I guess 66 it is. Hope you guys find the time to hear from Chad. He is without a doubt the biggest fantasy footballer I know. What a business. I asked him how confident he is about being paid after what happened to AFFL. Find out what he said....
