Redrafters: Players you'd like to fall to you (1 Viewer)

For those of us not wrapped up in dynasty leagues and having all or most of the player pool available for drafting, what are some players you're targeting at various positions? .. besides LT of course!

So name some of the players you are targeting as pretty sure bets, maybe your favorite dark horse, and other pieces that you want in your lineup.

In no particular order:

Travis Henry (seems like a great RB1.5 / RB2 option)

Donald Driver (I never get this guy, he's pretty consistent though)

Chargers Defense

Vinatieri (always drafted way too early)

Cedric Benson (in a 10 team league, this guy could get lost in the shuffle as teams grab their 2nd RB)

Come on. What are you really trying to say??NOTE: Not that there's anything wrong with it.
You know how in the draft, there's always a player or two you are hoping falls to you in your next pick, and they get snatched by the guy right in front of you. Things like that. Maybe it's your favorite TE, someone takes Todd Heap right in front you, etc.

allright i'll give it a try ... off the top of my head some guys i see maybe falling and where i'd be happy to get them

SA after the 5th pick (i think he can be top 5)

addai in the late 1st

maroney in the late 1st

manning pretty much anywhere in the 2nd

benson in the 3rd

boldin in the 3rd

driver/plaxico/andre johnson in the late 4th or 5th

jerious norwood not sure when he'll be available but i want him - dunno what to think about dunn???

QBs targeting late: rivers, roethelsburger, grossman

troy williamson / ted ginn - way late

Players I'd like to fall:

Terrell Owens to the 3rd Round (unlikely, but many owners have soured on him) -- worth risk here.

Adrian Peterson to the 5th or 6th (like O-line and don't think Minny's sold on Chester)

L. Coles to the 7th or 8th (he's slipped before)

Favre to the 11th or 12th (I love having this guy as QB2 because if QB1 gets hurt, you're okay)

Kitna to the 8th or 9th (I'll take a chance on this guy -- did me right on Cinci years back -- Cal and Roy ain't too shabby -- +the Martz factor)

Kellen Winslow III to the 8th or 9th (unlikely to slide, but ya never know)

M. Lynch as my RB3.

Maybe Randy Moss will fall to me to be WR2, and I'm pretty sure I can wait really really long in my draft and pick up a QBBC like Cutler and Losman.

Guys I tend to be higher on than everyone else include Maurice Jones-Drew (a Rich Man's Reggie Bush), Lee Evans (stud no matter WHO is throwing the ball), Anquan Boldin, and Antonio Gates/Peyton Manning (both in a big way).

Rudi Johnson. Mr Consistency deserves to go high, but usually falls in fantasy drafts, to the last first/early second round..

Andre Johnson - underrated, and with Shaub throwing him the ball rather thn Carr, he's looking at perhaps his best season as a pro. But, he'll STILL slip into round 3 or 4.

others marquee players who will drop and become great value because of it:

Boldin

Donald Driver

Cotchery

Ladell Betts - If you belive, like I do, that in no way will Portis last a full season, Betts representsd great value, if even just for trade bait with the Portis owner.

TJ House ( I won't try to spell his name).

Thomas Jones

Vernon Davis ( remember him?)

D.J. Hackett is currently going at an average of pick 102 in the SSL leagues (would convert to round 9 in standard 12-player formats.) He's the reason I am sitting back on receivers earlier this year - he would make a terrific WR3 at that point. I like him to go for about 60-70 catches for close to 1,000 yards and 7-8 TDs, which would be stellar for a WR3 and represent huge value in round 9.

ETA : In fact, there are a bunch of guys in that WR30-45 range (Santonio Holmes, Devery Henderson, Joe Horn, etc..) that could easily produce similar numbers to the receivers being drafted in the WR24-30 range. I for one, am going to look to grab Rb depth in rounds 6-7 this year before taking my 3rd WR in round 8 or 9.

Really stepping out on a limb there. :goodposting:

DeAngelo Williams
I wanted to put him down, but I'm unsure how they're going to distribute the workload down there.Any insight?
He :goodposting: the new offense. Davidson has no loyalty to Foster. I am optimistic about the situation for Williams - you just know he's going to run those ZBS plays better than Foster throughout training camp, and I believe, earn the larger part of the RBBC. I also think despite the difference in size, Williams can be more effective than Foster around the goal line. Foster's GL running makes me :ptts:

In that case, I look for DW to be this year's Frank Gore*; in fact, since he's bulked up Foster reminds me of Barlow, as in bigger but a lot slower. *I was on to Gore at the beginning of last year :patsselfonback:.

I was lucky to be the one that took Gore in the mag mock last year, in the 7th or 8th I think. I got DeAngelo in this year's mag mock... Love those 2nd year RBs who aren't hyped. White and Norwood also look to be good values this year.

Alex Smith may be another guy that has a solid year. He went from 875/1/11 to 2890/16/16 from year one to two.

With the addition of Jackson, and the continued development of Vernon Davis, there's a chance at something like 3250/23/15, which wouldn't be terrible if you miss out on the initial run on QBs.

He's also gained Darrell Jackson, Ashley Lelie (who can distract the deep safety, even if he doesn't do much himself), Jason Hill, and a new improved Brandon Williams. The only big loss from the WR corps was the malcontent, Antonio Bryant.

A couple other backs that will make good #2's/great #3's are Ahman Green and Marion Barber III.

Green showed last year that even though he's no spring chicken, he's still got skills remaining. And reunited with Sherman in Houston, with the scheme they run, is perfect for him.

The book may be out on MB III. He did score a bunch last year, but is developing into a better all around back than most people think.

QB: In a 10 team league I like to take the 10th QB off the board.

Last year I managed to get Bulger as the 9th QB off the board. I would like to get him again in that range.

Alex Smith and JP Losman would look really nice as a #3 QB if I go that deep.

RB: I would like to get Marshawn Lynch as my #3 RB. Or Jerrious Norwood as a late #3 RB. Or and early #4 RB. I doubt Norwood will last that long and I think folks will be reaching for him too early.

WR: Depending on who the QB is in Miami I would might like to see Chris Chambers.

And I like Arnez Battle really late if someone hasn't taken him too early.

TE: Eric Johnson.

In PPR leagues, a guy that will help that should be available late is Ronald Curry. He was finally healthy last year and showed what he could do.

He caught 62 passes in that travesty that was the Oakland offense and with the departure of Moss, a new offensive philosophy, and a QB that can throw, he should improve on that total considerably.

Nice piece of posting there...

:lmao: Williams is definitely high on the list for draft value and it is not just because I am a homer. Everything Bloom said is right on the money thus far. I do agree that it will be an RBBC but Williams will be given every chance - from the onset - to garner the lion's share of those carries. I am as giddy as I have been in the past 3 years about the running game. Some others:RB. L. Maroney (early-mid round 2)RB R. Brown (early -mid 2nd)RB Norwood WR Braylon EdwardsWR ColesQB- KitnaQB- LeinartQB- Pennington
