Reggie Bush lovers (1 Viewer)

I think anyone who has been on this board for the last 2 years knows my man crush on Reggie. I think he is a super talent, however, after seeing him be "THE MAN" last week I am now in serious doubt of him carrying the load for a whole game. Reggie looked superb in the first half of last week's game but the second he looked exhausted. I don't know if he'll be able to last the year getting that many touches. I want to know what you all think about him being the man and his durability for the rest of the year.

Do you think he'll be able to hold up?

Do you think he'll continue to put up 100 combine yards a game?

Do you think he'll be a guy you can put in your starting lineup and count on each week no matter who the competition is?

With Deuce out I think Bush is pretty much a weekly "must start" unless you are stacked at RB. I'm not sure he'll get 100 yards each game, but he'll see the ball a lot and can break one off from anywhere on the field.

Durability wise, I think NO will try to keep him from the grueling touches, so he may be all right in the health category. I'm thinking he will be used like Westbrook is, so 15-20 carries plus his receptions.

Barring injury, with the Saint's remaining schedule, I'd be surprised if he racks up less than 100 total yards the rest of the way. He's a must-start, though I'm concerned about what the touchdown total will end up being.

Thanks David, I love Reggie but he wasn't the same guy in the second half last week. I'm hoping your right.

Another disgruntled dynasty bush owner here. Unless you went RB/RB/RB in the first 3 rounds, chances are that you don't have better options. While his YPC are up over the last 2 starts, his TD production in non-existent. There simply have been no long gainers this year. All this talk of taking it to the house is just that, talk. I'm scared right now heading into the second half that Reggie may finish the year in the 5-7 TD range. Unless we have another 2nd half renaissance like last year, Reggie is heading towards the the bust label.

If he gets 100+ yards per game, even if he scores 5-7 TD he won't be a total bust (especially in PPR leagues). In his last 16 games (last 9 games in 06, 2 playoff games, 5 games this year), Bush has had 1440 rushing & reciving yards and 12 TD. I would guess his yardage will be higher with Deuce out but his TD total will not be as high heading forward.

yes to all 3

he was a first round pick in most drafts.....and those guys have to be in your starting lineup if healthy don't they...?.....and isn't it good for Bush owners that Duece got hurt.......I see that the situation has only improved for him fantasy wise....he should get more touches and he is one of those guys that you never know what touch it will be and he will break a big one....also I feel the Saints will continue to improve overall this season......maybe not to where they were at last year, but still improvemnet and Bush will be a big part of that..........

I agree he wasn't the same in the second half, but it seemed more mental than anything else.I'm pretty sure he'll be alright though, and am excited to watch him continue developing.

Did you think it had anything to do with playcalling?I thought the coaching staff really calmed things down in the second half and were alot more basic. I think Reggie has to have a good game called by Peyton to acheive great #'s.

I thought it was more a case of thinking where you're going instead of focusing on where you are. It looked to me like Reggie was trying to force the big play, and so had concentration lapses, missed holes, dropped balls.... he'll learn though.I actually thought Payton called a good game for Bush in the second half, a number of swing passes to get him in space, a few draws. Good stuff for Bush.

I'm also excited about Reggie every week. He seems to be improving a little every week. Can't wait for that one week where he completely goes nuts with something like 200 total yds and 2-3 TDs (you know it's coming). Maybe this week at home against the Falcons after their first win???!!!

What did you see in the 2nd half that made you think he was exhausted?

To me, it looked like the defense adjusted and focused on stopping the run, and better adjusted to the N.O. offense as a whole. There were no holes in the 2nd half, and the entire N.O. offense from Bush to Brees to Patten to Johnson struggled in the 2nd half compared to the 1st. Were they all tired?

The other thing that makes me shy away from just saying he was tired is that he was still ripping off solid runs down to the last second of the 1st half. Yet, from the first second of the second half and on those runs weren't there. So are we to believe that he was fine, not tired, ripping off long runs and then took a 20-minute break and came out of it instantly tired?

I think you have to be encouraged by the last two weeks. He's handled a heavy workload and performed pretty well. If Brees can play well enough to establish a threat in the passing attack and keep pressure off Bush then I see no reason why Reggie can't be a top 10-15 guy from here on out. He's already a bankable star in PPR and he still has considerable upside given his lack of big plays and TDs this season. If he can break a few big ones with some consistency then he has potential to be a true difference maker for FF teams.

The real problem here is that he's basically the only threat on the offense. Opposing defenses will do everything in their power to limit his effect on the game.

Marques Colston need to step it up big time

I have the so called "man crush" on bush as well as he was a 2nd round pick for me last year, and a first round pick this year (PPR #8 overall, 12 teams)

I dont think he was exhausted in the 2nd half, as reporters were stating that sean payton was concerned that he gave bush too many touches early in the first half, and really slowed down his load. he didnt get the ball enough Consecitively to start a hot streak in the 2nd half. And he probably would have had 2 TD's payton not pulled him out from goalline situations.
