We're halfway through the NFL season and it's becoming more and more clear that Reggie Bush is not very good at running with the football. It would not be unfair to call him pathetic. When you rush for negative yardage against one of the worst run defenses in the league it's pretty difficult to find a positive there.

Nearly every time Bush gets the ball in the running game he's hurting the Saints. He either loses yardage, gains nothing or maybe gains 2-3. When you give a RB the ball and you're hoping he can bust off a 2-yard gain you know that guy is a problem.

And yet the Saints keep giving him carries.

So my question for all of you is: Should that continue? The Saints are 6-2 and Bush has definitely helped in that regard so you could say if it ain't broke don't fix it. Or you could say that as the Saints try to get into the playoffs they need to maximize the things that are really working and minimize or eliminate entirely the things that aren't - like Bush trying to run with the football.

Is it time to turn Bush into a third-down RB? Someone who can catch passes but only gets a carry or two a game or should the Saints keep doing what they're doing and hope maybe Bush can bust off a 4-yard run some day?

I would say maybe cut down on his rushes a bit. Maybe work on him taking the ball up inside instead of bouncing everything to the outside like they did when he was doing the same thing returning punts early on. They need to keep him in the lineup though as I'm sure he is still having to be accounted for when he's in there.

Isn't Saint Reggie an impact player that causes defenses to keep him contained?

Meaning it free's up other receivers on the field etc etc etc....

You keep him in, if he is healthy, and try to use him as much as you can. He will only help buy Brees extra time with less pass rushers, and the guy is a tremendous athelete.

Keep the rushing for Duece....but keep Reggie in the game also.

Im a die hard steeler fan ,so i have not got a chance to check out many of the saints games. Im a USC fan also. I thought Bush would make a immediete impact in the NFL. Has he been that bad?
