Reggie Bush-RB- Saints Sep. 15 - 9:47 am et Yahoo Sports reports Reggie Bush received over $100,000 in gifts during his stay at the University of Southern California.Bush's NFL eligibility shouldn't be affected, though it might cost him his Heisman trophy.
The NCAA can strip him of his Heisman Trophy because of off the field issues but I know who the man was in the 2005 season.

I guess the MAN was Ornstein!

They should just pay these kids anyway and be done with it. It's big business. How much do you think USC made from selling # 5 jerseys?

NCdoubleAholes...

Isn't the Heisman awarded by the Downtown Athletic club and not the NCAA? If so, then it would be up to the club to strip him of the award. BTW, Mike Rozier was never stripped of the trophy when he signed with an agent for his entire senior season.Link

How dare Reggie Bush try to capitalize on his celebrity while under the control of the National Communist Association of America.

I hate USC and seeing them lose their championship and their fake championship would be kind of funny. But as a matter of principle, this concept of stripping titles away is just ridiculous. The game was played and USC came away the winner. Over. Done. History. Now, if you want to sanction/punish the team for breaking the rules (or failing to stop the rules from being broken), then by all means go ahead and do that. Maybe even make the penalties harsher because a championship was won during the timeframe of the infraction. But taking away championships after the fact should be off limits no matter what. The Cowboys didn't lose their Super Bowl rings when Irvin was busted for drugs years later. For that matter, Ohio State haven't lose their NCAA championship after all the crap Maurice Clarrett has done. Are we really going to kid ourselves that these two were model citizens during their championship runs but only fell from grace afterwards? Anyway, getting back to Bush. It sounds like he might have broken the rules. Strip his Heisman or any individual accolades if you must, but taking back team achievements is a complete joke. If you can do that then why even celebrate championships in the first place? There would always be the chance that it could be annulled at a later date.
