Reggie Bush (1 Viewer)

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Reggie Bush (knee) is "no sure thing" to face the Panthers in Week 7.

The official injury report lists Bush as having had "no practice" Thursday, but he did individual drills and coach Sean Payton referred to Bush as having been "limited." Still, if Bush's knee is swelling on Friday and into the weekend, he could wind up as a full-blown game-time decision

Great, I've already got MJD on a bye and was really counting on Bush to lead my team this week.

At least he plays the early game, so we'll have our full choice of subs and won't have to guess.

I hate when Schefter makes these statements. Its pure speculation on his part and then you have all of these website who end up speculating and downgrading his status. Unless I hear it from Payton or Bush himself, he's playing.

Thanks for the update OP. At least Bush is at a 1pm game, for those with some other options. What is this swelling from? Wear and tear? Procedure? I know he hurt his knee last year, is this the same knee?

Interesting, keep us posted.
Sorry, I deleted what I had originally typed about how I would have to decide between J-Stew or Lendale White and that it was a receiving heavy league so neither of those guys are really great options even though they both have a good chance to score TD's this week based on matchups and that I am facing a division foe who I'm ahead by one game on, but his team isn't strong and its a tackle-heavy IDP league where my defense is pretty salty, so even without Bush I'd probably win, but losing Bush would make it much closer than I'd like......Next time I'll be sure to inject all of my thoughts so you know exactly where I'm coming from, GBSLBUD.

Bush is on a mission this year, and the Panthers game is a critical one for the Saints. I suppose with Colston and Shockey back, Payton might feel more comfortable game-planning in his absence, but this is still a strange week to give Reggie a week off. Like all Bush owners, I just hope it's not more serious than the initial reports indicate.

Easy. Stewart. Big Stewart fan here. NOT a big "J-Lo-Stew" fan though...

New Orleans Saints Oct. 16 practice reportPosted by Mike Triplett, The Times-Picayune October 16, 2008 1:42PMTailback Reggie Bush did not participate in team drills again on Thursday because of swelling and soreness in his left knee. But he was involved in individual drills, and he and Coach Sean Payton have continued to describe his inactivity as a precaution. It still appears as though he will play Sunday at Carolina.Bush has been dealing with occasional swelling since training camp, when he missed a handful of practices, and Payton said he aggravated the condition with a specific injury in Week 1 against Tampa Bay. Obviously Bush has managed to play well, with great speed and explosiveness throughout the year, but it's been a long six-week stretch. Payton said he'll probably be fighting through it until the bye week in two weeks.

Wanted to keep this on the first page....looking for updates on whether he practiced or not today.
This should make you feel better....I know it picked me up:Reggie Bush, Jeremy Shockey and Marques Colston are all likely to play in Sunday's game at Carolina. All three of the Saints' offensive stars are listed as probable on the official injury report after they practiced on a limited basis Friday.

Saints Coach Sean Payton said he expects Bush to be "100 percent" healthy and not limited at all in Sunday's game on offense or in the punt return game. "He'll play his normal role," Payton said.

Both he and Bush reiterated that they just wanted to rest Bush's left knee, which has experienced occasional swelling and soreness throughout the season. They said it will be good for Bush to play on natural grass the next two weeks, followed by a bye week.

There are good bumps and there are bad bumps, this is the latter. I got excited and thought "Wow, initial reports are wrong, he'll be back!" Not your fault, but damn it.
