Reggie Bush... (1 Viewer)

Even in a limited role he gets you 11 points a game, very little deviation from week to week. A perfect BYE week RB2 or every week FLEX player in my 14 team league. Wouldn't be surprised to see a bump in the weekly totals while Lance Moore is sitting. Outperforming Marion Barber over the last month...

he's been highly reliant on the TD to put up even modest numbers, doesn't catch many passes anymore & I'm not sure if this is because the Saints have been winning or because they realize he really isn't all that effective as a receiver (about 7.5 ypr is pretty mediocre for a RB).

actually he hasn't... he's scored in 50% of his games, yet he's never scored less than 7 pts and never more than 16 (in PPR). He seems to be able to ge his points even w/o the TDs. Agree he's not startable in non-PPR.

Nothing not to like for the role your describing, but that's like a 10th round pick in fantasy. Reggie Bush was traditionally hyped to be a high end RB.

Is 7 points in a ppr worth mentioning? Here are his points in ppr not counting TDs, just to emphasize that he has been dependent on them the last few weeks.9 10 10 4 2 5 3 11I do agree with you that he is virtually ignored by the ff communty, is still being utilized in the redzone a good bit, is on a stellar offense, and has been pretty consistent for a flex play. Just hard to get excited about him.

not comparing styles in the slightest, but Rice is what everyone thought Bush would be. Now he's just a gadget guy. A change of scenery might help Bush at this stage of his career. Though, i don't know anything about his contract.

Bush's reception totals per game: 5 3 3 1 1 3 2 7

Why the 7 all of a sudden yesterday? I could not see the game - anyone who watched or any Saints homers have insight?

Most likely picked up some of L. Moores targets.
That makes no sense.
Colston was having a bad game so Brees went to both Meachem and Bush.
CAR was covering deep, leaving underneath stuff. That's Moore/Bush's area.

The past two games it seems like Reggie is finally starting to realize when he should juke and when he should put his head down and take what the defense gives you. Anyone watching the games should pick up on the difference.

IMO, this is the reason he has been seeing more catches in the flat.

There were 14 targets to the RBs this week, most of any week all year. This came a the expense of the rushing game...only 21 rushes vs Carolina, where they had been averaging 31 rushes a game. Receivers and tight ends were off a couple targets, but the main reason for the jump was getting the ball to the RB by the pass instead of the rush. Appears to be a result of the game plan too, as the targets were pretty evenly distributed by quarter.

:lmao: If he keeps that up and keeps gaining the confidence of the staff, Bush will break a few long TDs before the year is out.

It's about opportunity....the Saints have a deep backfield. Pierre Thomas is the most talented all around back on this squad...I think we can all agree on that.

Bush is a talent....a very good talent when used the right way. The Saints are using him the right way. He is a great pass cathing back with breakaway potential. I think a change of scenery and a west coast scheme would be great for Bush. If he were featured he would have the numbers....but he is not featured on this team anymore as long as Thomas and Bell are healthy.

I don't see him staying with the Saints unless his contract is re-worked. It is not Reggie Bush's fault he was taken #2 overall. However it is safe to say he has been a pretty big dissapointment so far in the NFL. AS far as fantasy he is a decent flex option....before this season when healthy he was a borderline #1 PPR back. He was highly productive from a fantasy perspective.

This team is humming and they will not change the way things are going.....but Bush will play a role in their success and he has made some nice plays this year in a limited role.
