Reggie Wayne & Marvin Harrison (1 Viewer)

comfortably numb

I was gonna post this cool joke about them not getting into the endzone, but I then remembered some 148 year old tribe leader from Zibanwadawayaah23ahakl already knew it, so it wouldn't be that funny.

I would have never thought this would be the case.

They are respectfully #1 (Harrison) and #4 (Wayne) in yardage in the NFL.

However, not 1 TD from either.

They may each end up with 2 a piece after playing TEN this week, but anyone concered?Downgrading them?Looking to buy?Looking to sell?

What are your final TD numbers for these guys with 12 games to go?

Check out the rant thread.

Reggie Wayne has been unbelievably unlucky with regards to finding paydirt.

Rhodes and Addai have stolen his scores.

Not for lack of trying. I have listened to almost every Colts game and on several occasions Manning has gone deep to Harrison in the end zone. It just hasn't panned out yet and while it's concerning, I think it'll come.

Harrison - 8 tds low side; 12 tds high side

Wayne - 6 tds low side; 9 tds high side

The running game has fared better than many thought too and even Manning has run two in.

I am trying to sell Wayne...but part of that is because I want to make room for Colston and Jennings. I think Wayne will continue to consistently put up yardage. I'd guess he finishes around 1300 and 7. Thats a solid year for a WR.

Me and you was in the same boat. I had Harrison Ward Wayne Jennings Berrian Jenkins Lelie R.WhiteJ.Porter and also wanted to make room for Jennings or now maybe Berrian. My rb's was shotty with Gore Foster Duece so i picked up T.Jones also for more depth there.

I wasn't really trying to sell Wayne, but I was slim at starting RB's and was offered Chester for Wayne (before this weekend) straight up and jumped on it.

This is crazy that Marvin is leading the league in receiving yards and still hasn't scored at least once they both are in the top 5 and still haven't scored a TD. That has got to be a first after 4 games. Two guys in the top 5 in receiving on the same team and no TD's between them. Steven Jackson was in the same category before he finally got into the endzone yesterday.

both against jax and nyj, peyton JUST missed marvin in the end zone for 50-ish yard TDs. in the jags game, marvin had beaten mathis and mathis blatantly held his jersey (and no call!), made him stumble as he reached up for the ball, which would have been an easy long score. and against the jets yesterday, a bomb hit off marvin's fingertips, not as close as the jags one, and marvin simply ran out of end zone, but still -- it's not for lack of trying.

bottom line: don't panic and sell marvin/reggie low. dungy is just getting the running game going at the goal line a bit so they're not one-dimensional to defenses who, after the last couple years, have come to expect the play action. where marvin/reggie (along with dallas clark) caught some slant/back of end zone TDs in the past. marvin will have 10 TDs by end of season, IMO. same with reggie. he's had a couple where he's been tackled at the 4, 3, 2 yard line, he'll get his, too.

How would feel about making a play for Harrison and starting both Wayne and Harrison. Is this a good strategy to start two receivers from same team?

The thing people have to realize is that Colts receivers would always benefit from the fact that Manning would always throw from the one or two yard line.

This year, it's the opposite.

Wayne and Harrison will still get their yards and their 7-8 touchdowns, but I highly doubt you'll see the double digits from either of them.

I dont think the Colts WR will score as many TDs through the air as they have in previous seasons. Teams are playing the pass against the Colts. With the running game not as dominant as it has been before teams are using the bend but don't break strategy. Thus Harrison and co will get loads of yards but I dont think he'll get much more than 8 or so TDs.

:goodposting: :goodposting: Bottom line is they've each had shots taken from Peyton. Lots of mear misses and lots of penalties. Eventually teams will stop holding, grabbing, interfering. And eventually the timing will get back to 100%. I kinda like the way the years gone thus far for both. Having put up such great yardage for owners keeping them pretty satisfied, and knowing that they're still good for nearly 20 TD's combined on the year. Just less games that those TD's will get rolled up in.

If Wayne would run his routes 1/2 yard deeper he would have 3 TDs already!!

Wayne has three catches inside the 1 this year.

Sounds like this has been noted in a couple places here already, but look at all the fantasy points Wayne has left on the field already this year:P.Manning pass short middle to R.Wayne to NYG 2 for 8 yards

P.Manning pass short right to R.Wayne for 15 yards, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on IND-T.Glenn, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at HST 15 - No Play.

P.Manning pass deep left to R.Wayne to HST 4 for 37 yards

P.Manning pass deep left to R.Wayne pushed ob at HST 3 for 27 yards

P.Manning pass deep middle to R.Wayne to JAX 29 for 51 yards (B.Williams) [b.McCray]. Play Challenged by JAX and REVERSED. P.Manning pass incomplete deep middle to R.Wayne [b.McCray].

P.Manning pass deep middle to R.Wayne to JAX 1 for 22 yards (D.Darius).

P.Manning pass short left to R.Wayne pushed ob at NYJ 1 for 15 yards (J.Miller).

That's 6 potential TDs and a 51 yard pass that could be added to his totals for the year.

On the flip side, Harrison has not been getting these chances. The torch has been passed in Indy.

I hope this isn't hijacking thread, but I just finished researching point totals from Wayne and Harrison combined over last two years. They averaged a combined 23.7 ppg in 2004, 21.6 ppg in 2005 and 18.3 ppg so far in 2006. During the last two years, only 10 out of 30 times did they score less than a combined 20 points and only twice did they score less than 10. I think they are due to increase their ppg this year to their 2 1/4 year average of 22.1 ppg.

Compare this to the top 2 WR combination in each year: 27.7 in '04, 26.9 in '05 and 18.3 in '06. I think I might give the two a try. Very consistent and pretty close to the highest total possible.

I have to respectfully disagree HK. And I own Wayne in several leagues but here is the problem with the torch has been passed stuff. Harrison has a lot more targets. If you can deal fro harrison since he ahsn't scored a TD I would do it immediately. Wayne gets about 2/3 of the targets IIRC as harrison right now...maybe 3/4 but Marvin is getting more opps.

Anybody watching the games now that the torch HAS NOT been passed. Not even close. Marvin getting more looks and receptions than even expected. Many, many close calls for TD's, just haven't clicked. I actually do like that the Colts have been running a little bit, taking what the offense will give them. Marvin will get 2 TD's this week - write it down..

Drafted both of them this year and in a TD weighted league they have been killing me. ( 1pt per 25 yards / 6 pts TD )

I was able to move Reggie Wayne for Frank Gore to a guy who was stacked at RB. He wanted Harrison but I told him that if he could get a better WR for Frank Gore then he should jump on it. I was keeping Harrison and only Offering Wayne. His only other option was to try and trade for Anquan Boldin but with the QB change Boldin seems to be more of a risk.

:hot: That's the difference between WR #23 and WR #3 in my league. :hot:
And one just hopes the Wayne owners don't realize this. He's gotta be the #1 buy "low" candidate.
I own Wayne in a TD heavy league and he is killing me. I am not gonna sell low however, though I am tempted to make a deal with a frustrated Fitzgerald owner. Probably will ride him out, gotta have faith.

The targets are there. I've watched several games, and Manning has been THIS CLOSE to hitting Marvin and Reggie for some deep TDs. Being 1st and 4th in total yardage is a good sign of TDs to come.

With zero TDs, Harrison is 13th overall. Once he starts scoring, it's all over. Oh, he's on pace for 116 catches too. No way he finishes with 116 catches, 1600 yards and no TDs.
