Reggie Wayne Owners (1 Viewer)

Just wondering what others think will happen in week 16 and what (if anything) you are doing about it? Even if he does play he up against Revis.

I'm on the side of play your studs, but Indy is known for benching guys once everything is locked up.

Normally, or at least this year, 1 half of football is plenty for Wayne to put up enough points. It's just the revis factor that scares me.

Is the Revis factor a worry against some one as good as Wayne? Revis shutdown Moss (although no welker that week), AJ, and Colston.

First time poster, long time reader. Go easy on me.

Thanks

The Head coach is different from the previous one that sat players. And I recall the broncos and Colts doing this and it doesnt work out so well.

Also, I worry about week16 when my teams get there.

First things, first. If the Colts somehow start 14-0 (and this is the scenario fantasy owners of key Colts players are worried about), they would lock up AFC Homefield no matter what the Bengals do (the common opponent TB would take place and the Colts would win that TB in that scenario). This would affect Week 16.

Second - I do think this coach would rest players just like Dungy - but probably not a "full rest" in week 16 for healthy players. They probably would want the offense to get out there for at least a half - especially if Gonzalez comes back, so they can work on things in a game situations with a rusty WR. Also, the Colts in the past have played WRs to get certain milestones - so even witih Revis the Colts might create specific plays to get Wayne and Clark catches to get to certain personal goals.

 I never understand why people worry so much about week 15 and 16 right now. If you get to week 16, that means that you're probably in the championship game. Just take it one step at a time....a lot can happen between now and week 16.

best case for Colts FFL players is a couple losses right now, or being 14-0 heading into week 16

I just like to be prepared. Also the league I'm in has a prize for total points that goes right up to week 16, so in this case I need to be ready with other options.

I don't think it will be an issue because of the following:

-Wayne lines up in different parts of different plays. Sometimes slot, sometimes right and left. He is used quite a bit in different ways

-Wayne is not a long ball kind of guy, a shutdown corners specialty (ie. see Randy Moss vs Jets this year). I mean he can play a long ball but I don't think his speed is his strength, its his agility

-Week 16 is a home game, he's been pretty solid at home

First smart post in this thread. You forgot to mention that if you guys actually watched the Jets recently, that Revis has been beaten on more than one occasion (I forgot which game, but he was completely beaten deep but the QB over threw his WR). Yes Revis is good, but with the Jets pass rush seemingly dissapearing in recent weeks, hes become much more vulnerable

I benched MSW when he went up against Revis because I read all this stuff about DR and got scared. I almost lost.

Unless Wayne's totally out, I'm playing him.
