Reggie Wayne vs Andre Johnson (1 Viewer)

At first glance, it seems like Wayne has the edge hands down, but Andre has come on after a couple poor games early on and seems to be connecting well with Schaub. I'm leaning towards Andre Johnson as being better as he will get a ton of targets where Wayne has to share more with other weapons. Any other thoughts?

Sorry, but no. Both are elite receivers and are game changers, so I thought it would be an interesting discussion of which will be better this year. Wayne has Manning throwing to him while Andre is part of the Texans. They seem pretty even and most likely will end up in the top 5, so maybe it isn't that exciting of a discussion since they both are of elite status, but I thought it would be interesting.

I think manning will start getting on the same page as his recievers, so i would go with wayne, esp. with how bad their running game is, they'll prolly have to rely on throwing

 You answered your own question. They're both studs and trying to pick who'll outpeform who on a given week is impossible.

Alright two different things... I think think the Colts are the better team and will end up in the playoffs, but AJ is getting 10-15+ targets a game.... he is almost 50% of the houston offense... he's basically getting RB touches as a WR. There's only 2-3 other WRs in the NFL getting as many looks and Reggie isn't one of them (Marshall, White and maybe Smith).

And he's converting about 63% of those targets for receptions.

Reggie Wayne is still a very good receiver but he's not going to outproduce Andre Johnson right now. When discussing these types of issues, it should go beyond who owns who and sticking to that.

The fact is Andre Johnson has been outstanding lately and there's no real reason that shouldn't continue. It doesn't mean Reggie Wayne isn't a good player but there's no evidence to me that would lead me to believe Wayne has the better year.
