Replay is absolutely WORTHLESS. (1 Viewer)

It takes away from the natural flow of the game.

The officials get it right way more than they get it wrong.

The booth reviews in the last two minutes are rarely on time to correct a bad call.

It's stupid that if a team has a challenge left that they cant throw the red flag inside two minutes.

Why limit what can be challenged if the goal is to get the call right?

This will cost a team a Super Bowl really soon.

P.S. I hate REPLAY !!!

It was worse without it. They fix plenty of errors, appease a lot of grumblings, and yeah, mess with the flow of the game. Personally, I can watch football all day and night so things that prolong the game, especially things designed to get it right, don't bother me much.

Love Replay & wish it'd cover more.

They could change having the refs go to the booth and instead have a ref in the box to look at the replays.

So it's replay that destroys the flow of games and not the touchdown/commercial/kickoff/commercial/3 and out/commercial sequence which (admittedly) pays the bills?

I'm missing something here. If there was a call that is close enough that I team would want a challenge, the booth will buzz down.

Like they did with the OT FG at the end of the Cinn/Clev game.

The league is much better off with replay than without it.

Did I miss a controversial call today that inspired this thread?

There was not a specific play today that made me start the thread. (Today however ONE of the plays in the final two minutes was the non fumble/fumble in the final two mins of the Patriot/Broncos game.) There were others today and many all year.

Biggest issues are that the coach cannot challenge in the final two minutes. (The BOOTH is way too slow to stop play and review.) Also, why cant some things be challenged and others not? (Why cant the coach say..."This is what I saw and let the OFFICIAL review and make a determination?)

:goodposting: It helps the game. Humans make mistakes. At the very least, give them a chance to see the play again in slow-mo to get a better look at it. The game moves fast.

I'm actually with you on both of those points. But while those are things that you and I would like to see changed about the replays, that doesn't mean replay is worthless. Even if it isn't quite as good as it should be, it's still far far better than not having replay at all.

Its worthless because it's not fair. A replay could help one team early in a game and hurt the other. Simply because it's a horrible system.

There was nothing to challenge there.

Over the replay system has helped the game more then hurt it.

One thing that makes the replay system uneven for all teams is that more popular games (or the better teams) have more cameras and that gives the refs more camera angels to look at when they are reviewing the play in question. In other words, the Indy vx Tenn games may have seven different camera angles for the refs to review, while the Buffale vs Cleve game may only have 3 different camera angels to review from. This does have an effect since they only change the call on the field if the are 100% sure.

This is where you lose me. The system works the same way for all teams. It's not like the Pats can challenge plays in the final two minutes but the Jets can't or something. It's not ideal, but again it's much better than the alternative of not having any replay at all.

I agree!

Most of the the important plays that are game changers are not reviewable plays anyway. Go figure.

nfl needs to adopt the ncaa version and review every play. its stupid that officials can be wrong many times in a game and at most a team can challange 3 times and only twice if they are wrong once.
