Just heard this on KFAN as well.

Doesn't mean it is final until Sept...

As annoying as Favre's decision process has been over the last few years...

...it is still a more interesting NFL with him playing.

The only thing that would make this story more dramatic is if Aaron Rodgers would go down with an injury (not wishing it on him) and Favre out there as a FA.

This is the part of the horror movie where we all think the psycho killer is dead, only to rise less than 2 minutes later.

I'll see it when I believe it.

Seriously Brett, just STOP!!!!! Your reputation is going in the tank!
Actually his reputation could have been worse if he came back now only to realize during training camp that it was a mistake and retire then.

The bolded part of this article will certainly make for some uncomfortable locker room interactions (assuming Favre stays retired.)

MINNEAPOLIS - Most people following the Brett Favre saga this summer would tell you, "it's only a matter of time until Favre signs a contract with Minnesota." Well, today, there's another twist. We know... shocking.

According to a report by ESPN.com's Ed Werder, Favre is reportedly "anguished about whether he should come out of retirement and join the team.” The story goes on to say Favre may have already decided not to play for the Vikings this season if it weren't for some key Vikings players staying in contact with the free agent quarterback.

Werder's sources claim, in recent days, Adrian Peterson, Steve Hutchinson and Jared Allen have been calling and texting Favre, telling him they want him on the team when Training Camp starts.

But, Favre is apparently torn for other reasons, as well. The report says he also feels a sense of obligation to the Vikings who have been courting him since the day he was released from the New York Jets.

Favre is also close friends with Vikings Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell, who has visited him in Mississippi, and has talked with head coach Brad Childress frequently over the past few months.

ESPN reports Favre's shoulder has been feeling fine, but he is questioning whether he can stay healthy for a 16-game season and a possible run in the playoffs.

Favre has said he will make up his mind by the start of Training Camp in Mankato, which gets going on July 30th. However, NFL.com reported this week Favre will make up his mind by Friday, July 23rd.

by "well played" I meant he managed to keep his name in the news for 3 months.
Not only that, he got paid to make a commercial spoofing his indecision. It is genius. Please let this be tru. And final
And sort of stick it to the Vikings one final time.
This helps the Vikings. There was no need for Favre the playoff choker. S. Rosenfels is going to get the job done.

He's still retired but NFLN reports he's going to keep throwing and working out.
Maybe they should quit reporting on Favre to quit feeding the media whore.ETA that if he flip flops again he will officially become a joke, if he hasn't already. It would be a shame if he's remembered more for this than his play.

Brett Favre spoke to ESPN's Ed Werder and called his decision to stay retired and not join the Minnesota Vikings "the hardest decision I've ever made.""It was the hardest decision I've ever made," Favre said. "I didn't feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable. I would like to thank everyone, including the Packers, Jets and Vikings -- but, most importantly, the fans.""I had to be careful not to commit for the wrong reasons," Favre added. "They were telling me, 'You went through all this, you had the surgery and you've got to finish it off.' But I have legitimate reasons for my decision. I'm 39 with a lot of sacks to my name."
Funny...so many people act like Werder just made stuff up...yet...Favre spoke to him.Do you all really think Favre is talking to the guy right now if he was making stuff up last week?Seems like it was a tough decision for him though. But in the end did not think he could really handle the beating all year long anymore. But wasn't the last year's retirement the hardest decision for him at the time too?
