Reports from outside the Cardinals stadium for MNF (1 Viewer)

A 9th home game for the Bears tonight??

Or are all the Cardinal fans working and/or went to the stadium yesterday and not realize there is a game today?

Thanks for the report bagger. I wouldn't get worried though, if I was a Cardinals fan.

It's not even 3PM yet. All the Bears fans that flew in have nothing else to do, while the Cardinals fans are all at work. I wouldn't read too much into this until much closer to gametime.

Forget where I heard it today but supposedly a lot of people in Arizona are formerly from Chicago so it doesn't surprise me too much.

that's what i figured, but it does seem like the Bears fans do travel well. Also, Illinois is the #2 state that migrates into Arizona (CA is #1). There may be quite a few AZ residents that are working that are Bears fans.

Plus all the Rust Belt retirees.

Interesting. I didn't know that.

Cardinal fan in Scottsdale here. Leaving work for the game in five minutes. We'll see. It's been my experience that there are a lot of folks here from the midwest, Chicago in particular.

The cards don't have local fans. The locals all like the Cowboys.
Fixed. :D
Native AZ guy here. 60% actually seems a bit low. Both the Cubs and the Bears have a very good following in the area. I don't actually think I have ever been to a game that was not at least 50/50. The bidwells have screwed us so many times in the past the Cards following is dismal. It is about this time every year I put away my jersey's and just watch my fantasy players.

Normal Cardinal game, opposing fans > their own. :shrug:There's probably a number of Cardinal fans who did indeed think there was a game yesterday, and they showed up to Sun Devil Stadium to compound their error. :lol:BTW, if anyone hears of tickets going for ~$10-20, shoot me a PM. My wife really really really wants to see her beloved da Bears in action. :)

This is probably the most excited I've been for a MNF this season so far. Gonna be really interesting to see how Leinart fares against the best team in the NFL (and perhaps best defense IN HISTORY) and in front of a national audience.

I'm pulling for him. I think the kid's gritty and a gamer, and he could surprise.

6 sacks, 2 int, and 1 fum. :no:He'll need to leave the Cardinals to attain Favre/Elway/Montana/Marino status.

1. would you freely admit to being a cards fan?

2. would you buy AND wear a cards jersey or hat?

3. would you actually pay $60 for a ticket to the game?

4. would you actually go the parkign lot 5 hours before kickoff? (remember, these are cards fans, not packers, eagles, raiders, etc...)

heat: meet Bears fans.Bears fans: meet heat.
According to weather.com...Current temp (5PM AZ time) = 81, humidity 22%Surely you're kidding about heat?AZ in July = HOTAZ in October = pretty nice
weather.com can tell you the 5:00pm temp at 4:30pm?! :o
4:34 rounds to 5?I don't know, I just checked the site. Is there a better site for checking current weather conditions? I'd actually like to know (not trying to be a smartas_).

Surely you're kidding about heat?

AZ in July = HOT

AZ in October = pretty nice

Upon further review...That appears to be the 5 o'clock forecast.

I would assume that would be pretty accurate, considering they only have to look 26 minutes out. :)

Ok, "forecast" is better. Otherwise I'd be searching that site for lottery numbers. ;)

(and perhaps best defense IN HISTORY)
... of just our world, or the history of the entire cosmos? The Bears-backlash is coming with statements made like that with less than half a season under their belt.
EATING CROW: You may be right. On the road the CHI D/ST defeated the ARZ offense, ARZ defense AND the CHI offense! I still can't believe they overcame the play of Grossman. How many gift possesions with good field position was ARZ given? That was just a remarkable display. Should have stopped the ARZ drive at the end of the game instead of relying on the K missing an easy one though.

Key point here. It's a similiar situation to the Bucs of the early 90's. The fans hated ownership, the team stunk, and the fans didn't support it.The Old Sombrero was usually A LOT more than 60% Bears or Packers in the old Norris division days.

But a new owner brought a winner to Tampa, season-tickets were quickly swallowed up by locals, and times are much different at RayJay.

Keep the faith, Cardinals fan.

There is the problem for you Cardinal fans, no amount of faith will help, unless of course you could pray for a tragic natural gas leak explosion at the Bidwell Thanksgiving dinner. As much as the players and coaching deserve credit for that unbelievable loss last night, the cheap ### Bidwell family deserves equal blame. The Cardinals are $10M under the salary cap and you would think that they could have spent that on some offensive lineman who could perhaps open a hole bigger than 6 inches. But no, these are the Bidwells and you the Valley of the Sun have been raped over and over again by these snake oil selling owners.

But hey that stadium you built for him is a nice moneymaker and I hear you have sold it out for the season, just remember how the Bidwells have returned the favor in the future.

Just about everyone in Phoenix is from slsewhere. Phoenix is a place people like to move to - that along with the fact that there is little reason to be a Cardinals fan makes Cardinals fans outnumbered quite often. :)
