Per RotoWire: The Patriots have promoted RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis from their practice squad Saturday, a move that hints that both LaMont Jordan and Maroney (shoulder) could be out this week.
The Chargers are 18th in the league against the run, giving up 113 yards a game. Interestingly, the Patriots are averaging 113 rushing yards per game. San Diego has given up at least 75 yards to starting RBs in three of their five games so far and Ronnie Brown dropped 125/1 on them last week. If Maroney and Jordan are both out, Morris will likely get most of the rushing attempts this week. Faulk did score twice last week but I'm guessing that's a fluke that we won't see again anytime soon. I would expect Morris to get at least 15 carries tomorrow night. In the past two seasons with the Patriots, he has gotten more than 15 carries in a game three times. He has topped 100 yards twice and had 63 yards last week. He has one TD in those three games although he just missed a short TD last week. For what it's worth, he scored in last year's Week 2 meeting with the Chargers.
If you need some bye-week help at RB, I think Morris is a nice play (I do like Faulk in PPR leagues too). I think he's a strong RB3 option this week because of his RB2 upside. Start him if you need him.
