Revis vs Roddy (1 Viewer)

Curious if anyone has the nerve to start Roddy this week. The data on Revis vs #1 WRs is clearly stacking up...with no exceptions. Hell...Roddy scored a rotten 6 ppr points against NO.

I've got Roddy and I see no reason to start him. It would seem this stud has to hit the bench.

I'm looking seriously for any option off waivers -- A. Foster, C. Jennings, etc.

If you have no other options, understand starting Roddy. If you aren't starting Roddy, who are you starting over him?

I'm in a PPR league and I'm seriously considering starting Q. Ganther instead of Roddy.

Also have Bradshaw and McCoy but I think I draw the line there and start Roddy instead.

Going after A. Foster, C. Jennings, and Massaquoi in waivers so I can mull multiple options.

I benched A Bryant against Revis this past week (and Bryant was coming off two consequetive good weeks). Bryant will be back in my line up this week. If I had White, I'd bench him if at all possible.

He'll probably stay on my bench for the duration (fantasy gods willing). Not sure I like him vs. the Bills next week either.

Nice run during the bye weeks, tho. He should finished up with 1100 yards, 9 TDs.

Edited to add: humility about lasting another week.

Only other options right now are Berrian, Royal and Cribbs. The only one I'm seriously considering is Cribbs. I think I just threw up a little.

I get points for return yardage and I think I'm going with Cribbs too.
If I got scoring for return yardage it'd be a no brainer. That said, does the increased RB role for Cribbs do anything to his return role? I can't imagine they'd adjust to that extent, but this is Mangini we're talking about here. Nothing would surprise me. I know I was negative towards the idea of rolling Cribbs out there over Roddy, but the more I think about it the more I like it.

Even if that guy is MSW?
What do we really know about MSW at this point? He had a calf? injury but practiced in full yesterday. They play the Colts which I would imagine means a heavy dose of MJD. The Colts have some serious pass rushers on the edge (assuming both Mathis and Freeny are healthy). I see a lot of draws and screens - both RB and WR - for the Jags. Of course, the Colts could also commit to stopping MJD and try to force Garrard and the passing game to beat them. Either way all the available info says that Revis vs. Roddy heavily favors Revis. A healthy Roddy and Ryan on a rolling Falcons offense would give me pause, but that's just not the case.

Benching him for Cribbs...
Do you get return yardage points?I see Cribbs in waivers along with C. Jennings and A. Foster. While I could see myself starting C. Jennings, Foster, (or Q. Ganther...already on roster) over R. White, I'm not so sure about Cribbs. KY

Benching him for DeSean Jackson.
Except for injury or an extremely flawed scoring system... DeSean should be starting regardless of the coverage on White lol.Revis is an amazing young talent at his position... he is covering some of the best receivers one on one and succeeding.

Seeing how I have no other options, this thread is really putting a scare into me.

I traded for White a few weeks back and remember thinking that my only hesitation in doing the deal was week 15. At the time, I said I'd worry about it then. Well, here we are....

and I'm very worried.

I have too many good receivers to pick from. I start them based on matchup. This week I'm going with Marshall, Gates and DeSean. White and Jennings sit on the bench and pout. Normally I've been starting Jackson, White and Marshall but Gates has been too good to ignore.

Now, since the FF gods are soooo fickle, and everyone wants to bench White... just sayin. Any given Sunday. I'd still bench White though...

Considering Cribbs as well, which def has me less than psyched about my prospects this week. Feels like Cribbs could break a long one against Chiefs and maybe even get a return TD.Then again, when White was struggling early in the year, everyone said to bench him vs. the Niners and he went off for 200+ yds. No Revis on the Niners, but still hard to bench him. Maybe Revis rotates against T Gonzalez some too.

Was planning on going with Driver and Harvin, but with Harvin missing practice again I gotta rely on White.

Exactly. When almost the majority is leaning one way, you gotta rock the boat and go the other way. I'm putting Roddy in!

PPR start 3. Probably benching Roddy for Brandon Gibson. Looks like Boldin, Harvin (if healthy) and Gibson. White, Braylon Edwards, and Eddie Royal ride the pine. Not too confident about my first round playoff matchup.

My only legitimate option is Lee Evans against NE: no one would start Evans would they? I figure that while both players are likely to put up 3 for 30 lines this week, White at least has the possibility of beating the odds and putting up a couple of long TDs.

Ugh, do I promote Meacham from my Taxi to cover for Roddy this week? I hate to blow a contract on him right now at the end of the season.... but its tough starting Roddy in this situation. Why do 90% of the sites have Roddy in the top 20 this week? Do they just lack the gonads to go out on a limb and project him where they really think he will end up this week?

The projections I've seen basically have predicted White to have the best game of the season for a #1 WR against Revis all year. That is with Redmon at QB. Hard to figure. I would go with trends on this one, and say White has a lousy game. There is also the chance Revis goes up against Jenkins on some plays. That is unlikely, as it is also unlikely White gets the better of Revis as some sites have projected.

I really only remember Revis getting beat one time, by Ginn. But that wasn't even his fault :lmao:
