That's my thought as well. If you have a set number of PTO days per year, everyone expects you to use them all. Nobody bats an eyelash at that. I bet they figured this out and most will actually take fewer days off per year saving the company $/increasing productivity. Well I have been here less than 6mths and have used a week already and a few days here and there for other things. No problem and no "marks" against me. Also have a ~2 week vacation planned around Thanksgiving this year, which is only at the 9mth mark.F that. Just give me my vacation time. Dont play games. Most places I have worked you don't get vacation time until the 1 year mark then you get 2 weeks. Yep. This is exactly it. I have 400 hours of vacation saved, they will have to pay me out on it.At my previous company we just did this. It's not because the company is being overly generous. It's so they don't have to carry accrued PTO on the books. Think of how many people "cash out" accrued vacation days in a year or get a couple of months worth of pay when they leave. That becomes a none-issue with unlimited vacation policies.
