Just curious what peoples thoughts are on this guy. He has had some nice fantasy games this year even though he is not officially the starter. I think their matchup against the Cowboys is a good one too. Alot of deflections/interceptions will be possible. And with his added production as a returner thats just a bonus.

K. Lucas is banged up a bit and not sure if he is going to get the start this weekend. Anyone know anything about this? I would love to start Marshall this weekend.

I agree with you and made mention in this week's RTD subscriber column. Unfortunately, Lucas is listed as probable on the injury report and looks likely to play making Marshall a pretty risky play as the nickel corner. Certainly worth keeping an eye on Lucas' injury status as the week goes on though.

marshall is #21 DB & top rookie DB...

that takes into account he was the nickle the majority of the time, so he has shown he can be productive even in that capacity... in a few of my leagues he is top 5...

there is precedent in recent years (anthony henry had 10 INTs & was among league leaders as rookie nickle CB... terence mcgee put up big numbers in nickle before becoming a starter) where a nickle CB in right situation far outproduces many starters ...

one game he had like 11 tackles (i think one of few or only start/s), he had INTs in two games & one of those added a TD...

he was one of best tackling CBs in class of 06 (maybe best) and you get the bonus plan in leagues that credit return yardage as he is a returner as well... needless to say he is dangerous when the ball is in his hands...

he could get a lot of opportunities to be a playmaker in coverage with peppers & company harrassing QB, & also plenty of tackle opps in run support as they don't necessarily have a great LB corp after thomas davis, with their two best LBs in recent seasons gone (witherspoon to rams in FA & dan morgan IRed with ANOTHER concussion)... NFC South likes to run a lot, too (ATL, NO & TB)...

This is exactly what I have been thinking as well. In my main dynasty league Terrence McGee and Justin Millerl are money. Charles Woodson is 6th I believe. Marshall is currently ranked 8th. I am thinking about tossing him out there this week with Romo in his first start. :banned:

BTW, when i said he was top 5 in some of my leagues, that is top 5 CB... all my dynasty IDP leagues (4) separate CB & safety scoring & are mandatory start 2 CB format...

another thing to like about marshall... like gene pointed out in his column this week (reading defenses), lucas has been banged up a lot, so he could see some starter minutes down the stretch... & even if lucas suits up but is iffy, CAR has shown they aren't shy about yanking him from starting lineup & are confident inserting the rookie...

i didn't see whole game, but there was one play that stood out for me where TO got a quick screen pass from romo... now TO is of course one of best RAC WRs in he game with boldin (arguably the best) and marshall had no problem wrapping him up... he looks like a very strong & sure tackler, which increases chance CAR coaching staff continues to find ways to get him on the field...

i think it was in PFW again where a scout suggested that at times this season he has played at a higher level than gamble & lucas & has been their best CB...
