Thanks for posting.

This mock is supposed to be according to teams needs. It surprises me that he has Dallas needing a WR over a Olineman.

Love the out-of-the-box thinking with this mock.

Demaryius to AZ, Matthews to Miami, Dez to Dallas (after Demaryius) in particular are interesting.

IIRC Gosselin leans heavily on inside info when putting these together.

4. Washington - QB Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame)
Wait.wut?
I am wondering if he anticipates some team trading up to take Clausen. But he could be taking Shanahan at his word.
Coach Mike Shanahan said Tuesday that, even with the presence of McNabb, a quarterback could be drafted.

"I think if you take a look at Philip Rivers, when did he start? His third year," Shanahan said, per Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. "You take a look at Aaron Rodgers? His third year. . . . I think a perfect scenario would be a young quarterback coming in here and backing up. You never know what's gonna happen on draft day."

It won't surprise us in Dallas, it has said for some time now that the Boys are eyeing Dez. I know you have no reason to check the Cowboys thread but it's been posted in there for several weeks.

People have to remember that the Goose is not going to put out his actual real draft a week before. He is well known for hitting on a good percentage of his picks and is not about to let someone else scoop him. This is just a teaser. Be patient everyone...the real one is coming.

His "real" mock will come out on Thursday, correct?Often times his earlier mocks give an indication of guys who are rising/falling on draft boards.

;) , there's zero chance the boys pass on Dez if he falls that far.

Just to get a gut check, if this happened, what order do you draft the 1st round skill positions in FF?

27. Dallas - WR Dez Bryant (Oklahoma St)

12. Miami - RB Ryan Matthews (Fresno St)

14. Seattle - RB CJ Spiller (Clemson)

26. Arizona - WR Demaryius Thomas (Georgia Tech)

Spiller, Dez, Matthews, Thomas, don't really care after that.

Correct. His first mock always leans toward his draft board, the second mock leans toward team need and the third mock will be the players he thinks each team should draft with their selections when on the clock.

:goodposting: , but his 3rd draft is usually how he sees the draft playing out, not who he thinks each team should draft.

You're right. That wasn't worded well. I actually copied it from The Dallas Morning News from an article posted a little over a week ago.

It certainly could have been more accurate or clearer.

Shanahan is right, that is the perfect scenario unless the guy is selected with the fourth pick of the draft and will demand a gauranteed signing bonus in excess of $35 million.Shanny also didn't address how you take a QB and sit him for three years and bypass a franchise offensive left tackle after his franchise OLT has just retired.

Other than those reasons I would agree with Shanny that you take a stab on a possible franchise QB prospect and sit and develop him for three years.

He just left out a few things that dictate he'll be drafting an OLT instead of a QB who won't see the field for three years. ;)

Philip Rivers WAS drafted with the 4th pick of the draft.

I not buying it either but I was trying to figure out why Gosselin made that pick.

Philip Rivers WAS drafted with the 4th pick of the draft.
True. And the Chargers drafted Eli Manning with the top pick of that draft after taking Drew Brees with the top pick of the second round a few years prior so they were not sold on Brees. The Skins after not being sold on Cambel have made their move for a Pro Bowl QB albiet it a 34 yr old QB but they have made a move for a QB.So its a good point but not apples to apples and I'm sure its apples to oranges, maybe apples to kumquats. Aaron Rogers is a better example since he fell so far that the Pack got a bargain flyer. If the Skins use the fourth pick that isn't a bargain especially since they need a franchise OLT now, not three yeas from now and they have a QB now and three old RBs who could also use a franchise OLT now. Jes sayin.

Much to my chagrin... even mel kiper believes washington is looking to go with a QB.So you trade off a 2nd round pick for a QB for one or two years? They also are okay with McNabbs influence on a young QB?
His 2nd mock is never similar to his last one. And his last one is the only one he tries to be accurate with.

shanny drafted cutty with plummer coming off a decent year. Franchise qbs are hard to find, although I'd think Snyder wants the premier LT to win right away.

Wondering if I even have a shot at Thomas with my 5th pick.... I hate that his value seems to be rising so fast right before the draft. I thought I had him locked up at 5th... now I can't imagine anyone passing on him for Best.... or whoever.

I don't see how Thomas goes before #5. Dez, SD RB, Hous RB, and Seat RB will likely go before Thomas. Then, there would be the surprise RB spots. There aren't many situations Thomas could go that would move him up. There are quite a few RB situations that could move players up ahead of Thomas.
