Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams had a less-than-impressive performance in his first game with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, being held to just 7 yards on four carries. "I did a decent job on pass protection. Obviously I didn't have that many yards running the ball but I felt pretty good about my performance. It felt good, it felt natural. I wasn't nervous, I felt comfortable with the offense," Williams said.

You're correct on one thing: they are two totally different games.But, you need a refill on your medications if you think the CFL has anything remotely close to equivalent talent. That's just foolish, and you know it.

Ricky went 5 for 8 and then 6 for -1 (yes, negative 1) in his first two games in the NFL last year.

His LAST three games were 14 for 70, 26 for 172 and 28 for 108 with a TD in each game.

This was his FIRST PRESEASON GAME IN A LEAGUE HE'S NEVER PLAYED IN BEFORE. You might want to relax a tad and not draw ridiculous conclusions from an essentially meaningless data set.

As far as the "disgrace to the human race" remark. Get real, he has not committed a crime against humanity. And I noticed NO ONE argued on behalf of the Steelers in Commonwealth verses the Eskimoes....too bad the Bus hung 'em up. He could keep Roethlisberger, Ward & Pomolua company. Most *normal* folks would put it in a savings acct. or "safely" invest it in CDs, bonds, Tbills, etc. You'd think RW would be able to pay a significant portion of it back (and maybe even keep the interest generated). Evidently not - hence the ?, where did all the bling bling go???

Dude...I love our CFL. It's a great league and it's fun to watch. BUT what you said is plain dumb. RWill hadn't played for a few months, is new to the kind of the play in this league, his OLine, etc. Give him a few months before judging him. Also, the Steelers would lose to the Eskimos ?

Forgive him he is from Edmonton.But he right on two things and wrong on one .

It s a very different game .

A game between a NFL team and a CFL team played with CFL rules would be much better then most of you think.

Talent wise he is wrong . I mean a Corner back in the NFK is as big and fast as a CFL linebacker . But once again with the size of the field it has to be like that .

After watching the carries on TSN....it was the terrible play of the O-line, and not the fault of Ricky.

The CFL is also a passing focused league. Ricky will play well, but he won't revolutionize how the game is played.

It was also the first preseason game, with only a few days of practice under his belt. I am sure that the coaching staff of the Argos didn't want to risk an injury to Ricky.

Hey all you elitist ! You'd think that a Dude whacked out on pot (or so the Football Moral Majority would claim...) that rushed for 100+ a game to end the Season against the "almighty" Greats of The Glorious NFL could at least break 4.0 per carry against the "lowly" CFL Ti-Cats while he's sober !!!! I guess not .

You fellas are going to learn a little something this Summer.... the CFL is Pro-ball !!!  Or perhaps those real football fans amoungst you are already aquainted with talent the likes of Tim Cheatwood (the man that dropped Ricky behind the line for a loss .... Great tackling)

Don't get me wrong; I love the NFL and play in 4 NFL Fantasy Leagues (3 time Champion), but living in Canada , I love the CFL as well and find the talent to be equal - just different games.(BTW- I've yet to win our CFL fantasy league) I remember a Hate CFL thread a while back, I just didn't want to reply until I had numbers and footage to back up my smack. Well, Mr. Cheatwood has got my back....Ricky is a hell of a talent, but so is the rest of OUR "2nd Rate" (HAH !!!) League.

Last word; Put your Steellers on Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium field in October against their Grey Cup Champion Eskimoes and Mr. Cower will do a lot of scowling...and a little pouting as well!

I am a Canuck and love the CFL too. But no way is the CFL comparable talent wise to the NFL. Absolutly no way. RW is going to dominate. He only had 4 friggin carries. Do you know anything? You can't judge his performance on 4 carries. Ask yourself this? If the CFL calibre is so good then why were teams so eager to sign Onterrio and RW with all that baggage? I can't wait to bump this thread.

BTW - I already got my tickets for the June 23rd game when the Argonauts come to town to play the Bombers. I will get to see ONterrio and RW.

6 pack says Williams doesn't reach 100 yards against the Blue. Dominate? CFL is made for the little scat backs that scoot to the outside on the wide field and pick up big chunks of yardage. 4 yards and a cloud in three down football is bad. how could I have lost to a genius like you in our league, effin embarrassing. And please don't sit near me during the game, partly cause you're annoying, but mostly because I don't want your 10 lbs of peanut shells all over me.

At least 20 lbs, more like 30-35. i went to training camp and he was as big as the DEs that were listed as 250. He's got major junk in the trunk. sick really.
