I know its only his first half as a starter but hes starting to look like a fantasy top 5 back at the age of thirty two that is impressive. They live and die with him in the red zone now

Ricky had a committee situation with Deuce McAllister his last year with the Saints and played well enough after the trade to net the Saints two #1 picks from the Dolphins then he takes a year or so off when he flaked out on the Dolphins. Upon his return he was fortunate enough to not be the man for Miami with Brown there. He has not taken the pounding of a 32 year old RB with the amount of time in the NFL that he has. Just my opinion.

Let's pretend the Miami O-line doesn't go to #### in 02/03 and Ricky doesn't have his reoccurring pot problems(perhaps in fixing the first problem you fix the second..?)

anyway, I honestly think we would be talking about this guy in the same light as an Edgerrin James or Curtis Martin. He is the prototypical workhorse back and if he had the chance to have a full body of work like the aforementioned future hall of famers, who knows what we would be seeing stat-wise from Williams.

He'll never amass anywhere near the amount of carries those two backs had but perhaps now with Ronnie out we will see a glimpse of what he is still capable of as a feature back. I for one am excited

Ricky did look good, but it didn't hurt that his first game as the lead back was against Carolina. Carolina is terrible against the run, and Michael Turner had 111 yards rushing before finishing the first half last week.

I agree..with most RBs it is about touches. The more punishment the faster the falloff. LT is a prime example..the body has taken too many hits and does not respond as it used to.
