Just thinking out loud, but I'll never forget the day of the draft where Ricky was passed up and Edge was selected.

2 questions for the fans.

#1 for Dolphin fan -

What kind of offer is it going to take to pull the Ronnie Brown insurance policy away?

#2 for Colt fan -

What would you think of Ricky for a 3rd round pick? (which I think is fair)

What about a 2nd round pick? Too steep?

i think a better ? is whether or not he can win his appeal.. if not it wont matter but if he does win his appeal i think he stays in miami...

Another good poll option. I think he'll win the appeal myself. No way he's THAT stupid... :X

Assuming he wins his appeal I think a 3rd round is the max the Dolphins could get. The huge plus about Ricky is his cheap contract, but the risk is heavy. As Ronnie Brown owner Ricky hurts his value, but as a Dolphin fan, the Dolphins should try and sign Ricky to be insurance at a reasonable price for a few more years. I really don't see a team give up a 3rd round, but it isn't impossible. My take is that Ricky is really clean now and is still one of the better RB's in the league

NO

Ricky will never be a Colt. He's not the type of person the Colts want on their team. Not even at no cost.

Why do you think he will win the appeal? Regardless of whether he meant to take a banned substance or not , it doesn't matter. Unless this is a freak case, I do not see how this will get overturned. Appeals in professional sports for substances are rarely overturned.

I mean, in the NHL, Jose Theodore was suspended for having a masking agent in his system, that is commonly used as hair medication and didn't even bother with an appeal.

Overturning an appeal is rar enough, but how many have been overturned for a player with Ricky's history?

IINM, Rick's lawyers are going for the "false positive" defense. They aren't saying "he didn't mean to do it"....

"False positive", which means the test results were wrong?

Si.Last I heard, his camp claimed he DID NOT use drugs.

We shall see.

great fit in Carolina, Denver, GB, N.E...

If I'm SF, I'd be looking to trade for him ..at the least to replace Barlow, but not so sure you can count on Gore for 300+ carries either..

Ricky is a Cali dude, right? so he'd be coming home, which is what he's said he wanted to do all along..

RW owner + Denver = :excited: :banned: :D RW in a niner jersey =

Truth is, I dont think hes even on the market anymore. Noone would give up a first or second rounder at this point - and thats what hes worth to the Phins - especially for the contract hes playing at (500K per year).

I agree totally here. Add in that no other team knows what Ricky might do. He loves Saban and trusts him and why the turnaround in the first place. I dont even think they get a 3rd for him and they are better off with the insurance to Ronnie Brown.

Ricky's lawyer for his appeal wrote the current NFL drug policy. He's already stated that he thinks Ricky will win his appeal. I still think Ricky plays in 2006

The Dolphins signed Fred Beasley this off season.

They also re-signed Sammy Morris.

So they have some depth at RB.

RW appeal is set for April 10th, so the Dolphins will have time to trade him before the draft if he wins.

With that that said I could see the Dolphins moving him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I doubt they get it because Denver pretty much destroyed his trade value by leaking confidential information.

I hope the Dophins keep him. He is worth SO MUCH more to them than some 2nd or 3rd rd pick. Insurance for Ronnie and it also lets Ronnie learn the ropes.

ALL the Ricky haters obviously didn't see him play towards the end of last year when he ran wild once again. They are the same people that said on this very message board . . .

He's lost too much weight

His heart is not into it.

He smokes too much pot

Blah blah blah

The same people are still bashing him after he proved them all wrong last year by getting on the field and running over people once AGAIN.
