Ricky Williams (1 Viewer)

I had picked him up (Ricky "Puff Daddy" Williams) at the end of last year on my dynasty league. With the news confirmed, I dropped him and picked up Brodie Croyle who I expect to be the KC QB this year- if not to start the year then to finish it.

Rickey has released statement saying he did not fail a drug test and that he and a NFL shrink made the decision together that he needed to take care of some issues and then comeback and the date decided was Sept.
Statement:Due to the recent reports about me failing a drug test, I feel it is appropriate for me to issue this statement. Last month, following a psychological evaluation requested by the NFL, we — the psychiatrist and I — came to the realization that there were a few things I needed to iron out about myself in order to make my return to the NFL as successful as possible. I am an honest, God-fearing man who is intensely dedicated to being the best person I can be on and off the football field. There is no need to smear my name or to defame my character for the sake of news. When the time is right, God willing, I will be back on the field scoring touchdowns for whatever team is fortunate enough to believe in me.He never says he did not fail a drug test, he says a bunch of the useless fluff/drivel that he has become famous for. The story is that he failed a drug test, and the statement was released through Steinberg, who obviously vetted it. I think, had he not failed a drug test, he would have come out and stated that. He didn't, ergo I'm 99.9% sure that he did. My understanding is that he cannot go back to the CFL becuase they changed the rules so that a player suspended by the NFL is no longer eligible in the CFL. This really could be the end for him. That said, I wouldn't drop him (in dynasty) unless/until the NFL bans him for 2007.

Ricky who?

He was good like 3 years ago... he's a shell of his former self. He's nearly 30. Doesn't have a ton of work in the last few years. Is a major risk.

Why would he even be on your roster (unless you have like 50+ man rosters)?

I wish I could pickup Brodie Croyle in my dynasty league, good pickup!

I'm not going to drop a RB with the potential to gain 1K yds for... who's next on my draft list? Oh, yeah! Brandon Williams. No, I've got enough WRs for now, and for what he cost me this year (equal to about a 18th or 19th rounder). BTW, I WAS the M.Bell owner last year. My roster is well rounded enough to support a flyer or two, so what the hell?

I've still got him on my roster but it's a DEEP roster. If it weren't so deep I would dump him. But I can drop guys like Brian Calhoun and Sage Rosenfels :goodposting: If something comes along that I like I will definitely drop him, but if there is no need, I will keep him. With Addai, Gore, Edge and Jacobs at RB in a 12 team league I can sit on this guy.
