  • Im a leftist.

lol at the "neither" people

you put a gun to my head and i'll vote for anyone from Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton, hell with a gun to my head I'll make sweet love to any candidate you can think of

living matters more than politics (and more than repulsive one time sexual encounters)

I'd'a had sex with Taft while he was stuck in the tub if you put a gun to my head

Isn't this the same issue that liberals and "left wingers" and even independents are facing?

If your calculus as a voter prioritizes (hoped for) ethics and integrity in a candidate, then Hillary is just disqualified. If you think that ideology or policies or most likely the Supreme Court is most important, then you could very well vote for Hillary in spite of their playing almost entirely in the ethical grey zone. Now aside from the USSC what policies can you really expect from the Clintons as a Democrat? Can you really rely upon them for anything? What does Hillary believe in? No matter what they tell you pretty much anything can happen if it serves their needs.

In terms of policy, for conservatives, what more could they want for from a Democrat than what they get in the Clintons' record?

  • History of pleasing Wall Street and financial deregulation. Their son in law is a hedge fund manager for crying out loud. In bed with Goldman Sachs, etc. x1000.
  • Make campaign finance laws into a joke. Open for business from an industry and lobbying point of view.
  • On gay marriage Hillary outright opposed it in New York, stood up for the DOMA in the Senate, and even as recently as last summer said it wasn't a constitutional right and should be left up to the states. Is that any different than Ted Cruz?
  • Voted for and spoke for the Iraq War. Also approved of intervention in Bosnia, also without UN approval.
  • Went right along with the tough on crime measures of the 90s.
  • Declared the end of "Big Government," sliced up welfare and beat back and nearly killed the left wing in their own party.
  • Trade: Very pro-NAFTA over the years, Hillary is dead silent on TPP, but she will likely back it.
  • Keystone: well just check out their friends in Canada, that's a probable "Go."
  • Otherwise, worked well with the Republican Congress in the 90s. Except for you know what, but heck their little ethical lapses just tend to give the Republicans more power.

Hillary is basically a Republican with a few different social issues right? I mean, she's bought and paid for by business and pro war, seems like there is at least some comfort level there for Republicans

I believe this is a trick question. Since no left winger owns a gun, or would point one if they came upon one, the only way this scenario works is if a right winger is behind the trigger. If I precede from and with that assumption either answer gets me shot. My only option here, then, is to go off the board for an answer.

I would start by getting a chubby while humming the Battle Hymn of the Republic, and then ask out loud, "what would Ronnie do?" I think I might get off safely at that point.

BTW, if there is a James Brady joke in here somewhere it won't be me making it.

Um, no, but carry on.
I'm going to say ethics and integrity are right alongside policy and ideology for some liberals and progressives in supporting Sanders over Hillary. Actually ideology doesn't mean much to someone who is so accessible by way of the dollar.
Well, of course those things matter as much as policy and ideology, and that all sounds very nice, except, unlike you I actually run in progressive/liberal circles and most don't agree with your take on Hillary's ethics/integrity - because if they actually did, she wouldn't the overwhelming choice to get the democratic nomination.

Sanders hands down.

I don't agree with him, but I respect his integrity.

It would also be an eye-opening experiment and I don't think he can do lasting damage in 4 years.
