Whoa. At first I thought Grooveshark was another dead FBG
Maybe because it's illegal?Found this out today as well. Grooveshark was my go-to streaming site: totally free W/O having to give your email addy, or any other personal info, full songs, make your own playlists. I'm not aware of another service that offers that combo....
I'm guessing that "we're sorry that we are terrible people, check out these other reasonably priced options" statement probably saved them a few bucks in the settlementtommyboy said:i had multiple playlists of some really cool #### on that set aside. I'd use it on trips through my droid and bluetooth to my car stereo, or listen in my office at work. I liked that it had a LOT of obscure stuff on it, with some searching you could find most anything. I also liked that you might find multiple versions of a song, and you could find the one that had the best sound quality and put that in your queue. Oh well.
if you click the link i posted its about the most defeated sounding apology ever issued by corporation. The text wasn't cut/paste-able or else I would have posted it.
there's not much like it for free. I have sirius XM so I just use that now for background music in my office. no more custom playlists thgouh.Super bummed to learn this today...have been using it for years and had a pretty extensive set of songs and playlists set up. Not a week goes by I didn't listen to it for a few hours at work. Who's moving to what? I tried Spotify for a couple of weeks but it was the most annoying and intrusive app I'd ever installed.
Why? The ads? How else do you expect them to properly pay the artists for their music that you're consuming. You can pay $9/mo and avoid the ads while still properly compensating the musicians for their art.Super bummed to learn this today...have been using it for years and had a pretty extensive set of songs and playlists set up. Ads do not bother me...I understand they need to make money to keep the service alive. Why? The ads? How else do you expect them to properly pay the artists for their music that you're consuming.
