I looked for a thread on his passing and didn't see one.  He died 7 Sep 2021 (aged 71).

He played the running back position for the National Football League's New England Patriots from 1973 to 1982. He played football collegiately at the University of Southern California, where he rushed 337 times for 1,579 yards and 23 touchdowns during his three years at the university. During the 1973 Rose Bowl, he scored four touchdowns in the Trojans' 42-17 rout of Ohio State University. He was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 11th pick in the 1st round of the 1973 NFL Draft. He went on to play for the Patriots for nine seasons as he missed the 1980 season because of a contract dispute. His best season as a pro came in his second year with the team as he rushed 166 times for 811 yards and scored nine touchdowns in 1974. While he rushed for 1,015 yards in 1977, he did so on 104 more carries and scored just four touchdowns. He finished his NFL career, after the 1982 season, with 1,385 carries for 5,453 yards and 49 total touchdowns. He also made the 1978 Pro Bowl. In 2010, he was inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame.

He got some love in the FFA Obituary thread.  Re-upping my thoughts, he was mostly a football card memory for me, but this link was an eye-opener for me:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsvekPkjM54.
