RIP Tupac (1 Viewer)

Tat

Has-been punter
:poursout40:

1996 - In Las Vegas, Nevada, actor and recording artist Tupac Shakur is shot several times after attending a boxing match, he would later die in the hospital due to his injuries from the shooting on September 13.

I have never understood why this guy has such a following. What was so unique about him other than he was an actor?

He had a few good songs but I don't think he deserves the cult following that he gets (even in after death).

Also, it's hard to like a guy who was a thug and in FBG terms, not a GB.

that's about as worn out as making fun of Capella's faield BAR exam attempts.

Ya whatever dude. Get over it, he was nothing more than a famous gang member
f'n 4 digiter :blackdot:
I figured you would offer more, but I guess I shouldnt have expected a lot from a One-Pac tag along.
Tag along? Never claimed to be. Just pointing out that it happened on this date a few years ago.
Dude you wouldnt be posting this topic, nor would you be counting your fingers, if he didnt mean something to you. At least stand up for yourself, and not back down becasue someone else has a different view point. Where is your integrity???

He had a pretty big following for those that like this genre of music (myself included) prior to his death. He had more than a few good songs. You can pretty much listen to his albums all the way through which is saying a lot for a rap artist. And his music stands the test of time. I will give you that his obsession with the thug persona was ridiculous. He was 5 foot nothing a hundred and nothing kid from Baltimore who was incredibly gifted artistically. This reality seemed to piss him off so he had to "keep it real" and be this ahole hard "west coast" thug. Very annoying for sure. But I find it hard to believe that people can't admit his talent.

People that don't recognize 2Pac as one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, rappers of all time, just don't get it and will never get it. They're not familiar with this type of music so their opinions on the subject are largely ignorant and irrelevant.

WTF?Seriously, go back to the Shark Pool please.

I simply saw that he was shot on this date and decided to post it.

Move the #### on please

Listen to 2pacalypse now. You'll never hear that much pure anger and frustration with the system than on that. Then listen to All Eyez On Me, you'll wanna smoke some indo. Top that off with a little Me Against The World, and you've got a (semi-overrated) top 10 rapper.

I like a lot of this list (though not in that order) but Big L? Big Pun? Really?

Big pun had the most unique rap style ever. He rhymes 4 times in 2 lines. Big L, well, you've obviously never listened to his only album. Biggie had it no doubt.

Do you realize just how little "talent" is involved in being a rapper? They can't play an instrument, they don't need a great (or even good) voice, they don't need to be able to read music. It's usually just a bunch of guys boasting about their posessions, how street-tough they are, and how awesome they are in the sack.Obviously, some are better at making worsd rhyme than others. Or rapper A has a more fluid delivery than rapper B, but let's not confuse a rapper's "talent" with that of a real musician.

I am very familiar with that type of music and Tupac isn't closer to the greatest. Not close
