Robert Edwards (1 Viewer)

R.Edwards provided the highlight of the game early in the fourth, tipping the ball with one hand as he was falling down in the end zone and then corralling it with the other for a 14-yard TD reception. beautiful hand-eye cordination considering he had 2 defenders all over him and the pass was high. Lets see, thats 3 rushing and 2 rec TD's so far this year for Sir Robert.

this the former Pat and Dolphin Robert Edwards who looked like a star his rookie season only to have a horrible accident during a pro bowl sponsored beach flag football game?

Yeah. Now he's back in football with the Alouettes. And he caught 2 TD passes yesterday. One of them was sick.

Considering the circumstances under which Edwards saw his NFL career derailed, I hope that he can stage a comeback and land a fat contract. After what he's been through, he deserves it.

That guy could flat out fly when he was healthy.

He's 32 years old. I doubt he can land a fat contract.

He played last year with the Alouettes as well. He rushed for 1,199 yards and scored 8 touchdowns. He finished 3rd in rushing during the 2005 campaign, behind only Charles Roberts and Joffrey Reynolds.

I doubt very much that Edwards is going to try the NFL again. He is simply happy to be playing football.

A guy to watch is Reynolds who is 26 years old and is a big running back at 5'10 and 221 pounds. He could get a sniff of the NFL again (he was in camp with the Giants (in 2004 I believe). He has pretty good hops for a bigger back. He is averaging over 7 yards per carry this season.

I was at the game and had a seat in the end-zone when Edwards made that catch. It was a great effort. The ball was over-thrown and he tipped it back to himself as he was going down. He managed to gain control of it even with a defender on top of him. At this stage of his career the NFL is beyond his skill set imo.

No, he had the same rookie year as Randy Moss.Other rookies that year included Fred Taylor and Peyton Manning. That's a lot of rookies who put up big time stats int he same season.
