Robert Plant Glastonbury set pro shot (1 Viewer)

Plant's post-Zeppelin career has been a lot more interesting than most of his contemporaries. He's continued to expand his musical boundaries by incorporating world music (mostly successfully) and musical trends (with more mixed results). The Zeppelin covers he worked into his Glastonbury set owe a lot more to what he's been doing lately than his day job between 1968-78.

He's 65 now and at an age where most fellow dinosaurs are regurgitating their greatest hits, counting their money in semi-retirement, or recasting themselves as Tony Bennett. Plant has a new album coming out this summer that I'm legitimately excited about. Bowie is just about the only other 60-something rocker for whom I can say that.

This. I watched the entire set, and enjoyed the new song as well. Very well done.

Some may consider it sacrilegious, but I have heard a lot of the reimagined Plant versions of LZ songs and really enjoy most of them. It may be that I have been such a Zeppelin junky that hearing them with some wrinkles and a fresh coat of paint is a bit refreshing. Some songs sound completely different.

Thanks for this - was very similar to his New Orleans Jazz Fest set earlier this year. Brought back great memories of seeing him that day, fortunately without the rain that accompanied him on this video.

I think I like every post in this thread. Saw Plant a few years ago now when he was touring and really, really enjoyed it. He is one of the consummate performers of our time IMO. Seems like he gets that you paid an obscene amount of money to come watch him and he delivers a very professional show because of it. I wish he and the rest of the boys from Zep would collaborate more but that's probably more born out of a frustration of having missed them in their heyday than anything else.
