Roddy White News? (1 Viewer)

All accounts point to him starting. He's been questionable for quite some time and continues to put up solid numbers. He seems to get more targets with Redman in there so you better hope Ryan is down one more week.

:bye: Because White has been so bad up until now?

No, just that Redman throw to White every other play which results in good things for White. Ryan is more capable of spreading the ball around so White's output fluctuates a bit more. White had a bit of a drop off before Ryan got hurt.

Is Matt Ryan in or out this week? Does it even matter?
Doesn't matter. No one has a good game against Revis...ever. White's injury appears to be catching up with him with his 2 for 41 yard performance last week. He'll be lucky to get more than 4/40ish against Revis this week. In addition, with Jenkins back White will see fewer targets again.

If he plays, you start him. It's that simple. Jenkins playing or not is irrelevant.
Jenkins? Who cares about Jenkins? It's Revis that I'm concerned about. Top 2 corner in the league on a defense that's playing very well vs. an offense that's missing some key parts. I love Roddy. Love him. But he's not un-benchable given the injury situation and who he's going up against this week.

Usually I agree, but I'm not sure in this case. Revis has shut down everyone this year, from Moss to AJ to Colston. Probably the only hope is that Roddy can compile some garbage time stats.

I agree. I am not sure I want to gamble on that, so I am pretty sure I will be benching him this week. White has been playing hurt in recent weeks too. Here are the defensive game logs showing all WRs against the Jets this season. The only one to go over 100 yds was Welker, who lines up in the slot (Revis was covering Moss). 5 total TDs to WRs in 13 games.

Just checked that log out. Funny thing is Edelman had 98 yards in week 2 playing for Welker. Other then those two players, the next highest WR total against the Jets this year is 68 yards with only 6 over 50. Any WR has only scored over 6 fantasy points (non-ppr) against the Jets 7 times this year. I might have to think about benching White.

I'm with you on this one and my other options aren't very good. If both Ryan and White were healthy and the team was playing well I might feel more optimistic.

Same here - only have Moss or Burleson as other options, and I'm not going to get cute and try to play Jenkins instead of Roddy.

It would have worked last week!

Sad but true.

There's no question that Roddy can (and probably should) be benched in most leagues this week.
Some people simply don't have options to bench him. He still might score a short TD even if he only gets 3-4 catches.
Very true. He scored a short TD a few weeks ago (Tampa, I think) in the final minute to make his week respectable. Tampa has no Revis, however. But good point none the less.

i am going with Housh over RWhite this week .... Housh has been very disappointing, but he faces a giving defense (5th worst defense against WRs this season) and it sounds like Burleson will be out with the high ankle sprain so i am banking on a positive effort from Housh this week with Butler/Branch likely filling in for Burleson

it should be noted that the Jets are the best defense against WRs this season (i.e. no defense has given up fewer pts to WRs than the Jets)

I'm in a PPR league and I'm seriously considering starting Q. Ganther instead of Roddy. Also have Bradshaw and McCoy but I think I draw the line there and start Roddy instead.Going after A. Foster, C. Jennings, and Massaquoi in waivers so I can mull multiple options.KY
Ganther over White this week is a no-brainer with Ganther having upside and even with a bad game should do a few points better than White it would seem. The upside on White seems to be 50 yards receiving.

Unreal, but would seem to be true. That some guy named Ganther who nobody knew of two weeks ago is a better start than Roddy White in my semi matchup. Revis is that good.KY

Agreed. I know there are a lot of times when you bench a stud and it backfires on you, but Revis deserves our respect and White isn't 100% even though he has been playing every week.
