Roddy White (1 Viewer)

6 rec 113 yards 0 tds through 2 games.

Game 1 ATL got up big and didn't need to pass much. (only 13 attemps I think) White had a very quiet day.

Game 2 ATL threw 33 times only completing 13. 4 to White. Tampa usually does a good job at slowing down #1 WRs. Colston only had a couple catches for 30 some yards against them. Overall another quiet game though.

Is this what we should expect from White this season? I can't imagine ATL being ahead too often and not throwing 30+ times a game. Ryan can only improve as the season goes on...right?

I can't tell if this is a good time to get White while his value is down or just unload all together before a sub-par season hits him.

Anyone that has watched the games have anything to add? Thoughts?

He put up almost 90 rec & 1200 yds last year. I really doubt thats a fluke. He also seemed to be the focal point of every play I was watching yesterday. I think hes a solid to good WR3.

There's already an existing 2 page thread on this exact subject with some pretty good opinions, discussion & insights. Might want to give it a read.

Roddy White

Why not? If you watched, you saw Ryan do quite a bit of growing up from the 1st half to the 2nd. He's got great upside, got some weaker opponents on the schedule and would make a nice #3, with the potential of a #2.

As for value, I traded him straight up for Colston. He was my WR3. I think he will finish with 75-85 recptions, 1000+. I am just not sure there are that many passing TDs to be had in that offense. Very good WR3 for sure.

As for value, I traded him straight up for Colston.
That doesn't establish his value. It establishes that you have an incredibly dumb owner in your league.
Sorry, man. Just trying to contribute. It was post-injury, lol. Oh well, glad I was on this side of the trade then :excited:
Even post-injury, you should immediately walk down to your local police station and turn yourself in.
Haha. So what do you see White doing the rest of the season? His value?

I think his value is limited. This is far from the offense he was in last season. This Falcons team wants to run, run and run some more.

You couldn't tell that from last weeks game. 33-28 pass. I see some drop off for Roddy this year, but not a ton, easily WR3 numbers, but he'll likely be streaky.

I said they want to run, run, run. They got behind 17-0. :lmao:

They opened the game with 3 straight passes. I never saw any indication that they were committed to the run in that game. They can talk about 8 in the box all they want, I think they were betting they could catch the bucs off guard and lost big time. Just my take.

I hear ya. As much as I think his value has dipped, I may actually use him this week. He's got a great matchup at home against the horrific Chiefs. My only other option is Harrison against the Jags, and he's basically invisible now.

If there's ever a week to NOT use White, it's most definitely next week.Did you see how first the Broncos & then the Raiders, just ran rough shod all over the Chiefs D? Even if you missed it, I know the Falcons coaches didn't.

Against the Chiefs & their pathetic Run D, expect the Falcons to ram it down their throat. First with Turner, then with Norwood. Heck the Falcons might even throw Snelling & Mughelli a bone & let them get in on the rushing fun.

You've also got to take into account the Falcons offseason moves.

The Falcons didn't dump their pass catching TE, Alge Crumpler, only to replace him with not one, but two blocking TE's in Hartsock & Peelle, move back up into the 1st round to snag Baker along with the big FA signing of Turner, to help the passing game.

Matt Ryan and Roddy White look to be developing some chemistry. In week 4 on the road against Carolina, White was targeted 17 times, hauling in 7 catches for 90 yards.

In week 3, at home v. the Chiefs, he pulled 7 targets his way, catching 5, including a 70 yard TD play.

If Aaron Rodgers can play this week, could this turn into a high scoring game that forces the Falcons into a shoot out. Or will the Pack try to grind it out with the running game and a conservative ball control plan? The Packers defense looks to be in the middle of the league in defending the pass and they look to be a little banged up: Atari Bibgy, Al Harris, and Aaron Rouse all look to be out this week and Charles Woodson's toe has kept him out of practice this week.

Roddy White looks to have a shot at a 3rd consecutive week of decent production. I project him for 6 rec. 95 yards and he should find the endzone.

Even if Rodgers plays, I highly doubt his shoulder can handle a shootout. Dip and dunk passes mostly I bet. I think if he tries a deep bomb his shoulder will pop out and he'll be done.

Good point. I did a bad job at trying to illicit a response as to whether the Pack can score more points with Rodgers and his hurt shoulder than with Brohm or Flynn. Jennings and Driver seem to be fairly good at getting YAC, so I can still see the Pack scoing points off of a dink and dunk pass game. In essence, I should be asking the question: Do folks see the Pack scoring a lot of points this week?

Note that Roddy's receptions have gone up every week (2, 4, 5, 7). Obviously this trend can't continue to occur, but it is clear that as Ryan continues to mature, he's locking more and more into Roddy. Perhaps the presence of a rookie QB will not be much of a negative for Roddy after all.

Understatement of the week, lol.Should have held onto him...oh well, this is life.

Boy, I was way off on this one. He's in my lineup until further notice.
He's getting to, if not already there, of "never sit your stud" status. He was #14 in one of my leagues before today and today's stats might move him into top 10.

I'm surprised at how many people keep missing the boat on him.He had a GREAT year last year with 3 bum QBs. He's the only play maker, the only WR, the only decent offensive player they have beyond the RBs. The guy breaks out in his 3rd year but people are still down on him. He was WR 13-14 going into this week and people are benching him? Huh? Robinson/Jenkins are awful. No TE. Ryan is going to complete 14-15 passes, who else is going to catch them.

This guys seems to be the goods. Putting up very strong numbers this year. Mad I trusted myself and drafted him at great value only to sell him. Just wasn't sold I guess. But no doubt that he is legit.

I didn't doubt White's talent, just his QB situation this year.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect Ryan to play as well as he has his rookie year & almost right out of the gate to boot.

With Ryan looking as good as he does, no matter the opponent, I'm now gonna have to do a politicians flip flop & say White is a weekly "Must Start".

I don't think anyone thought that Ryan would be playing like he has.

Falcons just need another WR to compliment White and give the young Ryan some more weapons to play with.

Week 1: 2-54-0Week 2: 4-59-0

Week 3: 5-119-1

Week 4: 7-90-0

Week 5: 8-132-1

Week 6: 9-112-1

 Remind me to never listen to myself.

I benched him too, but only because of the concussion he had in practice. I knew he would be playing but I was convinced he would not be a factor due to that. I started Coles instead who did ok, and I'm up by 30 against Anderson tonight. I think I'll still win.

I just read my post and realized nobody gives a * about how my week is going. My bad.
