I think the QB position is the one position that makes a lot more sense in the "never bench your studs" theory. I have Romo in one league and Brees in another and no way I would bench either. Brees played GB on Monday night and GB was the #3 ranked pass defense up until Monday night and Brees was ridiculous. When a QB is on, it almost doesn't matter and most of the stud QBs have enough weapons that the best pass defenses can't bottle them up on good nights. Now Romo may have a bad game, but if he plays well, he will do fine.I think that Romo will be able to pass on all of those teams. It's always hard to tell where to rank a player, but I wouldn't let those match-ups scare you. When you have as much talent as the Cowboys do on offense, you can always move the ball.... with Romo at QB. I think that those match-ups are much harder on Barber than they are on Romo. The only game that I thinking about sitting Romo is week 14. Not just because Pitt has the best pass D in the league... but beacuse the game is going to be in the cold, on Pittsburgh's horrible field. I would still play him but I have Thigpen against Denver that week.
You hit it right on the nose. If you can sit Romo vs Pitt for the reasons mentioned by widowmaker I would do it.. That is if you have a good backup. Romo will do just fine vs the Giants and Ravens. Both them teams can be moved on via the air and are home games. Lucky me I have a bye on week 14I think that Romo will be able to pass on all of those teams. relax, I'm just wondering as to what people thought about him as far as where he would rank in weeks 14-16. I don't even own him. I have a chance to acquire him but at a cost. I'm not quite as confident as you are that he is top 5 for those three weeks because of his scheudle. Which is why I started this thread, to get others take on him. So thanks for your input. Much appreciated. I will say that you are giving Romo a lot of credit for a guy who hasn't won "the big game" yet. he has a tough road over the next few weeks for Dallas to even make the playoffs. I'm not saying this in a negavtive way so please don't take it that way but are you a homer? Maybe that could be tainting your judgment a bit? Writing things like "That's what the people outside of Dallas don't understand about him." certainly doesn't make me feel like you are giving an unbiased opinion. Thanks again for posting in this thread. input noted and appreciated. At this point in his career, Romo is playing and going to play with a chip on his shoulder. I wouldn't want to bet against him, or play against him.He may be the most dangerous QB in the league in the coming weeks, and his splint comes off tomorrow after the Thanksgiving Day game, for good. While Brees and Warner are very good by their own right, Romo is the most dangerous gamer down the road from here on out. Benching him would be foolish at this point, with him getting his finger healthy and the challenges that lie ahead. That's what he plays for. That's what the people outside of Dallas don't understand about him. He's got a fire about him that you only find in a QB of his youth. I've said this all along, we haven't even seen his best yet. He's still learning the NFL game...and doing quite well I might add. And you want to sit him for who?
Your homerism is showing big time. I think Romo is a good QB, but the most dangerous? No. This fire you say he has about him that you only find in a QB of his youth, I haven't seen it. Whenever the Cowboys are behind and need a rally from their leader, he is usually sitting quietly on the bench with his baseball cap on. Again I think he is a good QB, but he does not belong on that pedestal you have put him on.At this point in his career, Romo is playing and going to play with a chip on his shoulder. Again, I have not seen this fire in him that you speak of.He's got a fire about him that you only find in a QB of his youth.
Was debating about that, but think I'm going with Romo. Giants give up decent points to good offenses and Thigpen didn't do well vs OAK and DEN. Plus FBG has Romo ranked way higher than Thigpen this week.Any Romo owners getting Thiggy with it instead this week?
I actually agree. Thigpen over Romo seems like a bit of a trap. Was debating about that, but think I'm going with Romo. Not a chance in hell I sit Romo for this home game with season high implications. It wont be another 3 INT day and he will be slinging it. No other QB I would rather have this week. Hoping Barber gets back out there though.I actually agree. Thigpen over Romo seems like a bit of a trap. Was debating about that, but think I'm going with Romo. You are correct, the winner will need 30+ in this shootout. I can see 300+ 3 td's 2 int's in a Dallas win.Dallas at home after a tough loss, and Romo playing at home after the terrible ending of that last game, I like Romo in this game and I'm starting him over Cutler There could be a couple of turnovers, but I can see the scoring being very high when it's all said and done. Can't wait!
I have same issue - initially put in Thiggy but I think in the playoffs its due or die time - going with Romo.I actually agree. TMR has been saying that on his ESPN chats since WK10 vs SD.I mainly posted just to use 'Gettin Thiggy with it'.. nah nah nah nah nah-nah nah...I jacked it from someone else on here last week, but it's only a matter of time before it makes it to TV. I mean, how could it not?... nah nah nah nah nah- nah!
