Quarterback Tony Romo said he will not play in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.Speaking on Terrell Owens radio show Tuesday night, Romo said, "Brad is going to go this week, unless something different happens that we don't foresee. It will be very difficult to change." The Cowboys have bye in Week 9, but Romo may still miss the Giants game the following week. It looks like the original four week timetable will hold up for Romo unless the team can come up with a brace that allows him to play. Source: Dallas Morning News

Is this really from the Dallas Morning news cause Dallas plays the Giants in week 9 and the bye is week 10. Terrible I tell ya. Does not seem very reliable.

Schedule aside, the quote is what matters...Tony's not playing this week.

Yeah, not doubting the report but it does raise a red flag of how reliable is this report if they do not even know what the Cowboys schedule is.

Personally, I don't buy it unless and until Andy Herron says it.

As to the report from The Dallas Mornng News, reporters do at times get their weeks mixed up. I had to fix and edit a report from Mark Curnutte of The Cincinnati Enquirer the other day before posting it on the blogger because he had the upcoming weeks for the Bengals all mixed up too. It happens. Had to do with Palmer being out.As to Romo, I caught footage of the radio show on the news tonight. Romo seemed pretty relaxed in saying what he did. Definitely wasn't a "wink, wink" kind of thing. It certainly didn't give me much assurance that there's a possibility of him returning before the bye. I still find it hard to buy though. I'm not sold on it. We're not really going to know anything until they start practice for the week tomorrow. Right now, I've got Romo, Ryan and Garcia on my roster, and am leaning heavily towards starting Garcia this week. Ya, against my Cowboys. How brutal is that?

I saw the clip of Romo on the radio show & he sure sounds like he's not playing till after the bye week. He said unless the training staff can come up with something else to help him throw, that he gonna get it heathy and come back strong AFTER the bye.

"Brad is going to go this week unless something happens that I don't foresee," Romo said. "It will be very difficult to change. Right now, we've got to get two wins going into the bye and go from there."

Romo said he was confident he could at least serve as Johnson's backup last week at St. Louis but in pregame warmups he realized he could not catch a snap and throw quickly. Romo said the pain was not an issue.

"I wasn't physically able to get my fingers on the ball in position to throw it," Romo said. "I needed time to get the ball in my hand. I couldn't figure out a way to make it happen."

He is not sure how much or if he will be able to practice this week.

our only chance this season is a healthy throwing hand on Romo. we'll probably be 4-5 at the bye, but we need Romo to be there down the stretch, period.

Now all we need is Jerry to confirm this, Wade to disagree and act surprised when confronted with Jerry's comment about it, which then gives Jerry another opportunity to make a statement in front of the cameras. :porked:

is the O-line going to be able to protect romo when he does come back? are they going to be able to create holes for barber/jones (when he comes back)? they have looked horrid the past few weeks and it doesn't matter who you have behind center if he's gonna be on his ### the entire game.

There was hope he could play through the pain and lack of grip. He will suit up for the game vs. the Skins.

If you have not noticed things can change quickly in the NFL and so can the play of Dallas. I think everyone can agree that Dallas is beating themselves for the most part. One week a team gets blown out the next they blow a team out. This is a weird year only time will tell. I for one will be watching and enjoying either way.

Hey Andy, I have the same exact QB situation as you Romo, Garcia and Ryan. I think I am going with Garcia as well. Hey I love my fantasy football so if IT is against Dallas or not if it is the best option I am going to play it. Last time I looked Dallas aint getting me no money but my fantasy team sure can.LOL
