Romo vs. Cutler on TNF; countdown to the internet breaking... (1 Viewer)

Just a pitiful matchup and don't know who I want to win. Almost want Dallas as they have the Seahawks tiebreaker.

I mentioned in the Cutler thread, I have him going in one playoff game and Romo in another playoff game. :bag:

Final score: 2-0.
Only four cumulative picks and two fumbles, then.

I'm going against Jeffery and Bennett in the first round of the playoffs. Forgive me if I'm wound up against Cutler in the game thread.

Good point about the week off, though. They actually got the scheduling right for once.

Romo sacked himself almost a half-dozen times last week. Just fell over when he felt pressure. That was at home, on a pleasant day, with no noise.

I wonder how his achey back will feel playing outdoors in Chicago at night?

Any cowboy fans think that they will be able to put pressure on Cutler? I haven't watch that much Dallas football lately. I assume Dallas wins, but for fantasy purposes I'm interested in Cutler's output. It seems to always come down to giving him time. If he gets pressure he'll fold but if he can get sufficient time, I think he'll be fantasy start-able. I assume Chicago can't stop Dallas' run game so the Chicago O should get opportunities (possibly garbage time).

What kind of defense does Dallas play, mostly zone or man-to-man?

I know no defense plays exclusively one or the other but there are usually tendencies. Cutler has been GOD AWFUL this year against zone defenses.

The key for Romo's production is going to be weather Cutler and the Bears can put up some points on offense. I can easily see a scenario where Cutler stinks up the joint and Romo and the Cowboys are content to just hand the ball off to DeMarco Murray. Maybe that's the cynic in me having both Romo and Dez Bryant going this Thursday.

I am starting Romo, and I'll admit that I am nervous about it in the playoffs. But there are some things that give me hope.

1. He is very good in December, contrary to popular belief. Granted, it hasn't translated to wins, but for fantasy production, he's been great.

2. Last week was rough, but he's also used to getting more rest. With his injuries, it was a short week, a really short week given the time of the game, so he struggled.

3. Dez is angry. An angry Dez usually produces.

In general I HATE Thursday Night Football and always bench players if I have comparable options, but I"m hoping the full week of preparation for both teams will enable the performances to be better than usual. Owning Romo, Dez, and Alshon, I need that to be the case.

I've got to choose between the two. It's close, but I'm going with Romo because of the better match up. It has not been an easy choice, and I guess I could still change my mind.

I'd go with Romo also, mainly because Forte was crying about wanting more carries and I would guess that Trestman will accommodate him.

56 combined pts in my league's scoring (6 pts/any TD; -2 pts/INT; 1 pt/25 pass yds, becomes 1.5 pts @ 300 yds). Owners be very satisfied tonight.
