IRVING, Texas — An air-supported practice bubble that covers a practice at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility collapsed during a strong thunderstorm on Saturday.

There were no reports of injuries. An ambulance was seen arriving at the scene. Emergency medical technicians were seen entering portions of the bubble that were still standing.

Irving fire-rescue officials ordered all reporters and team personnel away from the immediate area.

Sounds like it's just one of those large inflatable bubble/tent-type facilities. Which I would imagine means nobody could have been hurt.
Insofar as other Bubble facilities, it's usually just a light half dome over a playing surface which shelters the players and staff from inclement weather. They - as far as I know - are usually pretty sturdy.Hope everyone ends up ok.

Jerry Jones being interviewed by Costas at the Derby right now. Says there was one injury, didn't specify if it was player or staff. He also said there are no known fatalities at this time.

Jerry Jones at Kentucky Derby stating all coaches/players within were safe. No know fatalities at this time.

Believe he said players were UDFA's & maybe some rookies?

At least one coach suffered a laceration or gash. Brett Maxie.

Another member from the personell dept. suffered a broken arm.

Collapse ocurred approxiately at 3:30pm CT during severe weather here.

Players were on the field.

27 players plus coaches and staff.

Some people were trapped and had to be rescued.

Asst. secondary coach Brett Maxie suffered a deep gash to his right leg.

Special teams coach Joe DeCamillis taken off on stretcher.

ETA: DeCamillis now said to have sustained head and neck injuries and has been hospitalized.

Brett Maxie being interviewed now:

"...practicing...walls and ceiling began to vibrate and the entire thing just shook and came down."

I worked in one of the video towers inside a couple of years ago. It is really just an aluminum framework. No wonder that it was support staff that was injured. There are a couple of video areas that are about 25 feet up.

We know to hunker down with the warnings- hard to believe they kept practicing....

Wow Did I just see on rotoworld it was a tornado that hit it?
That's rotoworld for ya.No tornados reported, only high winds.
I live here, and all coverage is 4 people injured... I just recieved a text from 103.3 ESPN that says 50 injured. No one else is reporting that, and it looks by all video to be only a few. Typical ESPN throwing out crap before confirming. They make it sound like they were actually counting body bags or something

Ain't that the truth. I've seen some pretty nasty weather down here. Nothing you want to take a chance with.

Dear Lord is that some scary video that CNN is showing right now....it's a miracle more people didn't get hurt.

especially after the roof was repaired last spring at the facility.....

Number of injured now coming in from Parkland Hospital and the Irving Fire Dept.

Ten.

Secondary coach Dave Campo is fine. He got out a side door.

"Players did a great job getting thru the debris and digging people out."

Here's what it would normally look like inside for anyone interested (YouTube of a Cowboys practice inside the bubble at Valley Ranch):

ETA -- NOT from today, this is from an old practice.

Dallas Morning News scribe and Cowboys beat writer Todd Archer was one who got trapped underneath the carnage. It will be interesting to get his take once he makes his way to his laptop. I'm sure it will make it's way to the Cowboys thread eventually :lmao:

ETA: DB DeAngelo Smith and DE/OLB Brandon Williams pulled him out.

Anyone know the whereabouts of Ed Werder or Terrell Owens? This thing collapsed like Tony Romo in the 4th quarter. Maybe it wasn't just the wind.
Seriously though...the video I have seen shows the lights swinging from the roof (metal supports and a tent)... I am booking it for the door if I'm there- yet everyone is just standing around...
