I am considering trying for next year a new auction format in my two Dynasty leagues. Basically, each pick gets a final number of points based upon where the team ends the season.
In other words, the former #1 overall would be worth 24 points, while the former #24 overall would get 1 point, in a 12 team, 2 round rookie draft. Thus, the worst team gets 24 plus 12 points for bidding. Teams can still trade their picks, with the points added in to whoever owns the pick at the end of the season. That actually gives value to some second round picks that never get exercised, due to roster limitations (our roster limits are 18).
What do you guys think? Has anyone out there tried it, and does it work?
