Rookie Draft in progress (1 Viewer)

This is great for looking at talent based ADP Will. I really aprechiate the post. I recall looking at this from your league last year also and it being useful for me. The 2nd round really has some nice prospects this year with the WR class being so deep. I have allready made one attempt to trade a 1st round pick to an owner with 2 mid 2nd round picks. I am going to try that again using pick 1.07 I think.Bush and Hunt were wasted picks imo. I hope that happens in my leagues as well. The top of the 3rd round still has some nice prospects left from my perspective. A couple more Qbs and Wrs still worth drafting. My league has IDPs also so there are more prospects there.
Glad it helps a little. I really like to see and read as much as I can about these guys before the draft, because once they get drafted so much of their value is then based on situation. Guys can rise and fall quite a bit based on their perceived 'good' and 'bad' situations, and, although I think that's fair to a point, I am also a big believer in the 'cream always rises' philosophy. So next month when I am trying to decide between two guys, I can fall back on who was considered to be 'better' before they got drafted as a tie breaker of sorts.I agree about the second round, there are a lot of talented players in that 13-24 range. Especially WRs. The draft will probably clear this up a bit but I still think second round picks will produce some pretty nice players. I actually used this idea in a startup dynasty last year. I traded out of a few spots to pick up second round picks this year. I now have 6 second rounders. I'm pretty happy about it now. We'll see how I feel next year...As I said above, I agree about Hunt. He's not for me. But I would take a shot with Bush, maybe not quite as high as 2.1, but somewhere mid second I think I'd pull the trigger. It's a gamble but I could see a payoff there if he gets healthy and ends up somewhere he can contribute a little. Even if it's just to trade him after he plays his first good game, I would think someone would bite and offer better than mid second value. I haven't heard anything that says the leg won't eventually heal, have you?
I totaly agree with your points about ranking the rookies prior to the NFL draft. This has been an interesting topic around these parts recently. I have been playing dynasty for over a decade now and somthing I have learned and keeps being re-affirmed is that talent does overcome situation. I play against very knowledgable compitition as well. Not much flies under thier radar. One way I gain seperation from them is with pre-nfl talent analysis. That can help me draft steals in the rookie draft and trade for talented players that do not do much early in thier NFL careers.Of course situation matters and my pre-nfl draft rankings will change dramaticly once the nfl-draft is done. But I keep tabs on where I had players ranked prior to that for future reference. Some talented players NEVER make it at the NFL level. Even guys who I think are capable just due to thier situations. For example Adrian Peterson Rb Bears. I am not alone in thinking this guy could be a good starting Rb in the NFL. Situation has kept him from being able to prove it. When he has played he has done well however which is some proof about this pre-nfl draft assesment. He still may never get the chance to be the man however. It does seem to me that the Bears trading Jones away may be more than just giving Benson a shot to start however. I think they feel comfortable with Peterson if Benson fails. This is just one example of cream not always rising to the top. But ranking based on talent can still be useful information and like I allready said can come in handy when trading down the road. The 2nd round and even the early 3rd looks promising to me. Moreso than recent drafts primarily because of the WRs. The last time I got this excited about Wr prospects was in 2004 and they were not as deep as what I am seeing this year. 2001 was another interesting Wr class that had some good depth to it.Everything is rosy right now and half if not more than half of these Wrs will not ammount to anything. But some very good prospects are going to fall into the 2nd round this year and allow owners to catch lightning in a bottle.I have never been high on M. Bush but I agree that at some point even injured he is worth taking a chance on. I do not have him ranked high enough that I think he will be a player drafted by me. What team drafts him in the NFL could change my perspective of him. I do give a lot of credit to certain teams player evaluation more than others as well as teams that might be more likely to make a role for a player like him even if he sits the 1st year.

Sorry for any formatting issues.

I've got the Gnus team. With our scoring, RBs are at a premium. That is the main reason that reaches in teh first/second occurred with regularity, specifically me taking Booker at 1.6 and Leonard at 2.6.

Gnus

One other oddity with this league. Originally, Ds would be drafted with rookies every season. The league voted to keep Ds and so this draft garners keepers from the Ds.
