Rookie picks equivalent (1 Viewer)

In the beginning 4-5 rounds of a startup draft and wanted to see what return should be for trading 2018 rookie picks. What do rookie picks round 1-4 equal to startup draft picks? Can't seem to find a good article or thread on the subject.

Thanks

In normal drafts it is usually a 1 round improvement.  A 3rd in 2017 is worth a 2nd in 2018.  First rounders are usually worth a 1st & some other piece in future years.  However, since you are talking about a startup draft vs next year's rookie picks that makes it a little more tricky because you aren't dealing apples to apples.  During a start up draft (especially early on) it is difficult to know just where a team will finish to get any idea where in the round a 2018 pick will be.  In general I would say that the only 2018 picks worth much in terms of startup dynasty draft picks would be 1st rounders.  Those I would put in the top 40-ish of startup draft picks.  Personally I wouldn't give up a top 40 pick in a start up draft for a future year 1st rounder unless I could be assured it would be in the top half of the first round because I would rather have the known quantity this year but many owners value picks a lot more than I do.
