Some of you may know by my posts that I have a strong interest in dynasty leagues. Probably the best way to get ahead in those leagues is by finding out who is the REAL talent before they actually are the talent.

This is how I see it:

QB:

1. Matt Leinart - Easily the cream of the crop! Also, has the most talent arround him. I think he is one of those special players like P Manning that will be a constant stud, and dare I say it Hall of Famer. I like him even more than the other USC QB who is playing in Cinncy!

2. Jay Cutler - Gunslinger, cut in the mold of Brett Favre. I think that he'll be a better Fantasy QB than NFL QB. Watching him in preseason he rely's on his AWSOME arm strength too much. Doesn't set his feet when he throws (often off his back foot, or with feet parralel to the line of scrimage.) Forces the ball into tight coverage. Doesn't lack any confidence, so I say he throws a lot of TD's but also enough INT's, to never give him TRUE job security.

3. Vince Young- Can we say the next A Brooks. Sorry, but he's dumber than dirt. A great Athlete that should put up good fantasy numbers till the coach gets tired of losing.

4. Bruce Gradkowski - A lot will depend on how well he handles the team this year. Looked good in Preseason.

5. Brodie Croyle - His value is there if T Green hangs it up and they don't draft a QB.

RB:

1. Reggie Bush - I want to put him into his own tier, but I think that Maroney will also get it done. As far as pure talent goes though, number 5 er... 25 is unrivaled. Watching his games I think they ought to run him more inside allowing him to run counter plays and hit the gap fast rather than just run him outside. Awsome hands that make him a super stud till he retires in all PPR leagues. If they get rid of Duece he instantly becomes top 3. If they don't I think he is still top 10.

2. Laurence Maroney - Runs hard and Fast. Will put up a lot of yards after contact. Good goal line production... Something about him makes me think that he could be the next Jamal Anderson, maybe its his bruising style, but I think he'll put up good numbers and than battle injuries.

3. Joseph Addai - Very fast and strong back, with a great opportunity in Indy.

4. Jerious Norwood - Homerun threat! Reminds me of a leaner faster Robert Smith.

5. DeAngelo Williams The next D Foster... and by that I mean another talented back, that I don't ever see becoming THE back on his team.

6. LenDaleWhite - A VERY SLOW TJ Duckett. Might hold some value with TD's, but I just don't like him! Never have, never will!

7. Maurice Drew - 3rd down back, who could be either the next B Westbrook, or the next K Faulk.

WR:

1. Chad Jackson - The best of a weak class. But he's the real deal. VERY FAST, with great hands. I'm not in love with his route running, but at least he can catch the ball... unlike his brother Darell.

2. Marques Colston - I like what Sean Payton said about him " You can't factor in how you got the player when you evaluate him..." It's easy to dissmiss a 7th rounder from Hofstra that was projected to play TE, but he's a talent for sure!!! I think there are a lot of GM's that would like to take a mulligan with this guy. Fast for his size, which is HUGE. Soft hands, and uses his body well. Should be better than P Burress.

3. Greg Jennings - One of the better WR's in this class, but don't count on B Favre being there for too much longer throwing him the ball, and thats why I have him ranked as is.

4. Brandon Marshall - Baby T.O.? Nope.

5. Santonio Holmes - undersized thug. Although I don't like him he reminds me a bit of M Harrison.

6. Moss Sinorice - Anyone who is smaller than my little sister shouldn't be playing football.

7. Brad Smith - converted QB, and great athlete... Shouldn't ever be much more than a number three on his own team.

TE:

1. Vernon Davis - SUPER STUD! Was having trouble connecting with A Smith, and now he's hurt. Next to the "President" probably the most freakish athlete in this draft.

2. Marcedes Lewis - There are lots of BIG TREES in the redzone for B Leftwich, why throw it to the one with worst hands?

3. Tony Scheffler - Not expecting much. Could emerge as a bye week TE.

Solid rankings.

I agree that Chad Jackson should not be overlooked. Injuries have slowed his progress, but he could be New England's #1 WR as soon as this season.

Don't sleep on Tarvaris Jackson. He had a pretty good preseason and is in line for a shot to start in the near future.

Also, I don't see a huge gap between Vernon Davis and Marcedes Lewis. Lewis was also a first round pick and was a more productive player in college.

Derek Hagan is buried on the depth chart in Miami, but I still like his long-term potential.

I'm seriously blown away by all the hype about Reggie Bush. He certainly looks elusive but so did Dave Megget, Eric Metcalf and a whole bunch of smallish backs that have good hands. I have watched every New Orleans game except the one vs GB ( I purchased highlights of that one on Itunes) and I don't see Bush as an every down back in this league. To say that he would be a top 3 without Deuce seems like madness to me. He doesn't seem to be as tough a runner as Tiki Barber, Warrick Dunn or Marshall Faulk (players who are physically similar) so I have to label him as too small or "runs too small" or whatever it means when you can't lower your shoulders and get 2-3 yds. I like the guy. I think he is a great ambassador for the game and I think he will be a huge part of New Orleans offense for years to come but that doesn't mean enough in the world of Fantasy Football to be a top 3 back. I see him putting up numbers that would position him between 7-15 (basic yardage scoring, slightly higher PPR) for the rest of his career. I'm convinced that people are blinded by the hype. Someone please convince me otherwise.

I think it's way too early to diminish Bush's fantasy prospects, but I do agree that he may not be the 20-25 carry a game guy that makes fantasy gold. I think when all is said and done, Bush will be a much better NFL player (in terms of making defenses prepare for him) than a fantasy player.

By the way, White has very little in common with Duckett. I see that comparison from time to time and I hate it. White has always had much quicker feet and better instincts. Duckett has never been more than a big guy with good straight line speed and no agility whatsoever.

Don't get this one at all. He's had limited carries, but 5.4 YPC is a good sign that he's a capable NFL RB. Nothing against Norwood, who has looked explosive to say the least, but Williams looks to me like the model every-down back. Foster won't be in Carolina very long.BTW, Chad isn't Darrell's brother - don't know if you were kidding about that.

I guess its sad, but I thought they were brothers... I thought I read that in a post this offseason. D'oh. Thanks for clearing that up.

Agreed regarding DW. The guy is for real and Foster knows it. Don't count on him being a peon next year.
