We've got a few openings left in our Roster Baron's General Manager's Tournament on NFL.com   $25 buy inwinner take all - $200 all handled through LeagueSafe

Here's how tournament works.  Championship is determined by total points after Week 17.  Draft order will be randomized, then email draft, 2 rounds in length in which teams must select 1 RB/WR/TE FLEX and 1 Team Def.  The remaining starting rosters include 1 QB, 2 RB/WR Flex, 2 WR/TE Flex, and 1 K; teams will fill out the remainder of their roster in weeks 1 - 7 through the Waiver wire,  but are only allowed 1 transaction per week - remember, teams are racing each other for points so the goal is to build your team better than the next guy.  In Week 8, team's rosters are cleared - except for one player they must designate with the franchise tag - and the process starts all over again.  Along the way, teams receive bonus points added to their points totals for a variety of things - For example, have the highest scoring player of all players acquired that week? Bonus points.  Trades receive bonus points to both teams just for conducting them, BUT the team that lands the player that performs best after the trade gets even more.   It's going to be a wild and fun tournament, don't miss it.

This looks pretty interesting. I may be interested. Any spots left?

I read over the rules for the Red Baron Tournament but didn't see an answer to this question: what stops two teams from colluding in trading the same two players back and forth, week over week, in order to accumulate the trade bonus points?

Hi BT...as of this posting, we have 4 slots remaining open.  To answer your question, technically nothing, however all trades involve two bonuses.  First, each team in a trade receives the 25 point bonus for conducting a trade, but additionally whichever team in the trade that acquires the player that out-performs the other in the week immediately following the trade receives an additional 25 point bonus (so in every trade, one team will end up with 25 bonus points and the other with 50).  Essentially it's set up so that by trading, the teams are betting against each other to see who comes out ahead in the trade - think of it like the stock market, but with players, the trick is to be the team that acquires the better player.  Ideally, teams will all be conducting trades week after week in an attempt to wheel and deal better than the next guy.  (Additionally, any player acquired by trade is also eligible to earn the weekly bonus for highest scoring player acquired in that week) Simply trading the same players back and forth would not help the pair of teams equally so therefore it would not necessarily be in their best interest.

Hope I've answered your question, and I hope you decide to join us.
