Rothlisberger ( So bad as a QB ) (1 Viewer)

The big problem in Pittsburgh last season was Ben , they need a good QB they wont win with a subpar player at that position .

Do you think they address the situation ( Dont BS me with the accident etc etc ) He was nt better the year he won the SB , the defense won it for them.

did you watch him during his rookie year when he wasn't hurt? I think maybe you should cut the guy a break seeing how he almost died in an accident and then had emergency surgery a few weeks into the season. :fishing:

There's no way in the world that Roethlisberger won't be the Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback in September.

One of the biggest :fishing: trips today. Congrats!!!

if the accident & surgury affected his play that much for 16 weeks, then he probably shouldn't have been starting. the fact that they kept starting him makes me think they wouldn't blame his problems on the accident

Try watching the 3 post season games leading up to last years Superbowl before you spout off your misinformed knowledge. TIA

Well seeing as his passer rating was incredible last year, and they promoted the WR coach to OC specifically to make the new head coach transition easier for Ben, I think you can pretty well assume that he’s the starting QB next year. No matter how little you think of him.

Yes, the Steelers should dump Roethlisberger and re-sign Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox. They should also cut Hines Ward and replace him with Troy Edwards and can Willie Parker for Bam Morris and Amos Zeroue.

If he recovers fully from the injuries he sustained before the season, he will be fine and the team will rock and roll.

2004 Pittsburgh Steelers 14 13 295 196 66.4 2621 8.88 58 17 11 30/213 43 7 98.1

2005 Pittsburgh Steelers 12 12 268 168 62.7 2385 8.90 85 17 9 23/129 35 12 98.6

2004 (non rookie) playoff totals 4 4 93 58 62.3 803 7 3

And thats against 4 division champions.

So bad... so so bad... Bad A $ $.

You may want to look at his second half of the 2006 season.

As a Steelers fan, I'm hoping that they move up to take Quinn in the draft. Only one Super Bowl in three years? That's only one more than Bubby Brister. Man, he's horrible. :headbang:

this board becomes a bigger joke by the minute.
Things were so much better last April. About the 4th is when things started to go downhill.
I dunno. I have fond memories of those pre-September 6 2005 days.
I'm pretty sure the board got a lot better post-September 2005 :banned:
Maybe if we hijack this thread enough with stupid crap like this, we can get it deleted. It couldn't get any worse than it began. :)

Uh no

By my math, the Steelers have gone 34-13 when Big Ben has started (regular and post season combined). Seeing how they win at a .723 clip with him under center, I'm having a hard time thinking that the team thinks of QB as a glaring weakness.

Great shtick.

A month from now when things settle a bit, launch a sequel thread:

"Brady (He'll never be good w/o Vinatieri)"

TIA!

Yes, but Mike Shanahan also thought Mo Clarett would be great...and he had countless weeks of studying game film and seeing him work out and invested time and money into him. I'd rather be wrong with Shanahan than be wrong with Traders2001. But that's just me.Being wrong about Clarett <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Being wrong about Pittsburgh's opinion of Ben

Witch game the one where they took a cheap shot on a QB on the first series and knocked him out. Or the game where the DB ran into that dope of a QB after the fumble. They should not have even been in the Superbowl last year.

Now stop. Interjecting logic and fact into a thread like this is...well, PREPARE FOR LUDICROUS SPEED!!!

Yes, it was the witch game where the opposing team was wearing long pointy black hats and they were flying around on brooms. Ben dumped the gatorade bucket on them, they melted and the Steelers won. It was awesome.

If he throws 23 picks in 2007, the Steelers will be worried. At this point, they have to pray his brain is fully recovered.

He'll be fine - he only had about 20 INTs his first two seasons combined.Last season, he threw 7 in the first 3 games back from the accident/appendectomy, and another 7 in the first two games back off the concussion he suffered vs. Atlanta. The other 10 games he started, he had only 9 INTs total.I suspect that barring any further head injuries (please, God) - he'll be back in that 11-14 INT range next season.
