avoiding injuries

Have they released what day and time the 4 bye teams will host games next week? Or do they wait for the outcomes of this weeks games before deciding?
so the chargers would have a game on sunday at 10am??? i think it is the other way aroundYou can bank on Indy v.s Baltimore as the early Saturday game and Chicago v.s Dallas/Seattle/NY as the Sunday afternoon tilt...this would leave the Chargers playing early on Sunday and the Saints playing the Sat. night game. I believe the networks set the schedule.
Didn't think about the time-zones, in that case, move the Chargers to Sat. night...so the chargers would have a game on sunday at 10am??? i think it is the other way aroundYou can bank on Indy v.s Baltimore as the early Saturday game and Chicago v.s Dallas/Seattle/NY as the Sunday afternoon tilt...this would leave the Chargers playing early on Sunday and the Saints playing the Sat. night game. I wish they could just set it up now. I mean all the teams want the extra day of rest, but what about us fans who want to fly across the country to see the Chargers play and need to make plans.....I don't think they can release it until after this week's games. They don't want the Sunday team to turn around and play on Saturday, if it can be avoided. It all depends on the 3-6 games. If the Indy (Sat) and Philly (Sun) win: Eagles-Saints would be Sunday and Indy-Baltimore would be Saturday. That would make the Chargers game late on Sunday and the Bears on Saturday. If Indy and NYG win : Giants-Bears would be on Sunday. Saints on Saturday. AFC games stay the same.If KC and NYG win: Giants-Bears would be on Sunday. Saints on Saturday. KC-SD late Saturday. NYJ/NE at BAL on Sunday. If KC and PHL win: Eagles-Saints on Sunday. Bears on Saturday. KC-SD late Saturday. NYJ/NE at BAL on Sunday.ETA: This is just my guess based on the assumptions that the WC Sunday winner wouldn't play until the following Sunday and that you need 1 each of an NFC/AFC matchup. They might do whatever they want for TV ratings.
No....its always one AFC/one NFC game per day.Didn't think about the time-zones, in that case, move the Chargers to Sat. night...so the chargers would have a game on sunday at 10am??? i think it is the other way aroundYou can bank on Indy v.s Baltimore as the early Saturday game and Chicago v.s Dallas/Seattle/NY as the Sunday afternoon tilt...this would leave the Chargers playing early on Sunday and the Saints playing the Sat. night game. Yes. This is my guess:Sat early: NOSat late: SDSun early: BALTSun late: CHISo Chargers are a PM game. NO and CHI are both Central time so it can go either way. With Baltimore being the only East Coast host, they will most likely get the early game, correct?
Had this debate on the Saints board.I went back and checked the past 10 years. It happened 3 times in 4 years between 1996 and 1999, but since then only once (in 2002, the Steelers beat Cleveland on WC Sunday, but then played at Tennessee on Divisional Saturday, while the Jets defeated Indy on WC Saturday, then played at Oakland on Div. Sunday).I don't think they can release it until after this week's games. They don't want the Sunday team to turn around and play on Saturday, if it can be avoided. It all depends on the 3-6 games.
...
If you were a betting man, want % chance do you think the Chargers play Sat early/late. I have to bite the bullet and make some reservations, but want to at least hold the plan tix. Would prefer not to leave Sunday at midnight to make it back to the East coast by Monday am.Yes. This is my guess:Sat early: NOSat late: SDSun early: BALTSun late: CHISo Chargers are a PM game. NO and CHI are both Central time so it can go either way. With Baltimore being the only East Coast host, they will most likely get the early game, correct?
Saturday games last year were at 4:30 and 8:15 EST.Wash-SeaSo Chargers are a PM game. NO and CHI are both Central time so it can go either way. With Baltimore being the only East Coast host, they will most likely get the early game, correct?
No, that's not true.Completely dictated by TV.Seattle was the #1 last year, but Indy was the #1 and they played Sunday.I thought the top seed got the Saturday games - so they would have 8 days until the next game. I thought it was part of the advantage of being the 1 seed.
So Jets-Chargers is Sunday at 4:30?Kevin Burns was on WBAL 1090 in Baltimore this afternoon, and of course everyone wanted to know if the Ravens would play on Saturday or Sunday. He said the league wants the #1 TV markets Sunday at 4:30, so if it is the Jets and Ravens square off, they'd likely get the 4:30 Sunday game, but otherwise it would be Colts and Baltimore Saturday afternoon. The #1 markets for TV go on Sunday at 4:30, and the next best goes to Saturday at 8 Eastern. That probably means Chicago Saturday night and New Orleans Sunday at 1.
What? I think it is Chargers v NE/Jets and Bal v IndySo any new thoughts?Kevin Burns was on WBAL 1090 in Baltimore this afternoon, and of course everyone wanted to know if the Ravens would play on Saturday or Sunday.

The NY teams don't split the market. Even if they split the market, that would only make them equal, since the NY market is twice the size of the Chicago market.Any Jets or Giants game is going to get a huge draw, as long as the game isn't a total bore.Bears will definitely get the best slot (Sunday late game)
Why? Because the Bears are the best market out there (since the New York teams split the market). Also, if the Giants win and are still in it, they HAVE to play the Bears so with Chicago-NY, that becomes the Sun game
Even if the Giants lose, Bears-Dallas or Bears-Sea has solid markets (Chi/Sea)/great nation wide following still (Chi/Dallas). The Jets do not have the following in NY so they cannot and wil no trump the Bears.
Also, the networks love Chicago at night.....great city shots (skyline etc).
Based on the size of the Vegas line for NYJ-NE, I think the league is looking for a Brady-Tomlinson matchup which has more sizzle than Hasselbeck or Eli vs Grossman. The NY teams don't split the market.
