ROY lost me my game yesterday. I had him going and he got me 0 points and I lost by 6 with R. Moss and Reggie Brown on my bench. The fantasy gods can be cruel sometimes. Does anyone know the severity of his injury?
Here's the picture of the hit: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...1126/SPORTS0101It looked a bit late, but not worse than a lot of hits that happen all game long.I am eager awaiting any new news on ROY as well. I didnt even see the play where it happened, how did the hit look? Did it look to be serious?
No question it was a cheap shot, probably should have been a penalty but like you stated it wasn't nothing they normally don't let go anyway.blend said:Here's the picture of the hit: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...1126/SPORTS0101It looked a bit late, but not worse than a lot of hits that happen all game long.junk17 said:I am eager awaiting any new news on ROY as well. You don't know the injury, so you have no place to judge his toughness.Roy's status? Well I don't have much of an update...just that it's been the same since he entered the league. ####.
Whether or not '####' is the right word is up for debate, but fantasy owners questioning ROY's durability is valid. He's an exceptional talent, and when he is healthy, he's a stud. But he's like a Ferrarri that's always in the shop. You don't know the injury, so you have no place to judge his toughness.Roy's status? I don't dispute that, but there's a difference between being concerned that a guy is susceptible to injury and claiming that he is a pansy and sits out with injuries that he could play through.Whether or not '####' is the right word is up for debate, but fantasy owners questioning ROY's durability is valid. He's an exceptional talent, and when he is healthy, he's a stud. How many bones has he broken since he's been in the league? How many ligaments has he torn? You're absolutely correct, definitely no right to judge the Lions "franchise" receiver for missing so much time his first 4 years due to all these major injuries he keeps suffering. You don't know the injury, so you have no place to judge his toughness.Roy's status? By this logic, the following guys are pansies, since they've missed games this year without breaking any bones or tearing any ligaments:Steve SmithTJ HoushmandzadehDonte StallworthBrian WestbrookChris SimmsBen RoethlisbergerAhman GreenAnd Larry Johson is a wuss for not getting back into the game yesterday, since he just strained his neck. The Lions got some good news Monday. Wide receiver Roy Williams, their top playmaker, wasn’t seriously hurt in Sunday’s 26-17 loss at Minnesota. He suffered what coach Rod Marinelli called a “stinger” and a “pull in his upper back.” He is day-to-day.
Let's get the point of my statement correct. This year? Or EVERY year since they've been in the league? In Roy's case, it's been every year. Not sure I agree with your revise point. He's started 28 out of a possible 32 games in his NFL Career.Let's get the point of my statement correct. This year? Ouch. Good info though, thanks. He did a interview on local radio show in Detroit today. He said, from his own mouth, he hopes to play this week. He said his neck and back hurt so bad last night he slept in a chair.
Bumb for new info (and prevention of new threads)
Technically, he was in there for the last play of the game (kneel down). And Larry Johson is a wuss for not getting back into the game yesterday, since he just strained his neck. What a nancy boy.
Thanks for that update. Hakim was targeted 12 times last game, so i think he'll be a great bye week filler for some teams, especially in a PPR.This is from Rotoworld today:According to the Detroit News, the Lions have said WR Roy Williams (neck) is doubtful for Week 6.Previous reports had Williams as "day-to-day," but he's apparently still stiff and having difficulty sleeping. "If we can get it to calm down we will be in good position," Williams said. If Williams doesn't play Sunday, WR Az-Zahir Hakim is a solid short-term fantasy option.I'm not sure Yahoo activated Hakim yet as I can't find him on that site...Thoughts about Hakim?
