He actually does something?

Romo's back, they should put up some points this week vs. SF.....

I wanna roll with him...but can't put up with another 3-34 outing... :lmao:

Nope. Unless a week is 6/40 and maybe a TD is classified as doing something. He's not the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd option in that offense and Romo is still not 100%.

Ugggggh.Witten is still banged up, I though Roy may see soem extra looks...so 4-43 is a possibility? :)

I'm not liking what I'm seeing out of the Dallas offense as a whole, so yes. This is the week. This is the week I traded him for Lance Moore.

I don't know about starting him with confidence but I can't take another Lee Evans zilch-o. At least the match-up is solid and they will try to get him involved. Hey, maybe TO will throw him a TD pass and they will both be happy....

WR changing teams usually don't do so well their first year with the new club, particularly mid season changes. Chambers did okay last year, but he was the #1 option. Roy is the #3 option. Temper your expectations towards next year and still expect them to only be as a #2 or #3 receiving option. He's only a bye week or injury filler option.

You are calling Chambers the #1 option, and Williams a #3 option? How about Gates?Besides that... being a #1, 2 or 3 option depends on each play. Plays aren't designed to have the same players as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd option. I am sure that the Cowboys have several plays in which Williams is the #1 option. On plays when he isn't the #1 option, if he gets open, he will still get the ball. That's just the way it goes. Romo doesn't drop back in the pocket every play and look at Owens, then Witten, then Williams, ect... they go with the hot read first, no matter who it is.

If you subscribe, you can verify this with the final targets article, just change the year and select the weeks.Last year, week 6 thru week 17:Targets for Chambers = 81Targets for Gates = 67Chambers was brought in to be the #1 option in 2007. Obviously his injuries in 2008 have made him not the #1 option.Roy wasn't brought in to be the #1 option this year and maybe not next year either.

You are forgetting that Gates was injured and was very limited in play throughout the tail end of last year.

TO, you are only deluding yourself. You should find another blog to post at.

Other WRs brought in this year to be important cogs in the offense (supposed #1 or #2 options):

I. Bruce / B Johnson

J. Porter

B. Berrian

J. Walker

Just saying to temper expectations. The Randy Moss scenario isn't the standard occurrence.

It's time, I think. Probably as good as any; it's not like it's the beginning of the season and I/we can wait to "see something" first. Not in my case anyway (Berrian, Breaston, Gage), so I may just roll them bones.

WEEK 13:

1)Dallas Cowboys football on Thanksgiving Day.

2)Every football fan in Texas will have the game on.

3)Jerry Jones will want to show all the Cowboy/UT fans why he brought Roy back to the Lone Star State.

4) ???

Some serious reaching going on in here. I hope any RW owners have better options by this point in the season...

Nah, I'm going down with the ship. Starting R.E.W. over Ocho Stinko & Bryant Johnson. Not much of a gamble considering they all have underperformed.

Q&A with Jean-Jacques Taylor last night @ Dallas Morning News:

Q: Is Roy Williams getting open? Or has Tony Romo just not developed a rapport with him? Or is he unable to beat one-on-one coverage?

Eric Thrall

TAYLOR: Football is one of the toughest sports to integrate a new player during the season, because the game requires so much teamwork. Tony Romo has thrown thousands of passes to Terrell Owens in practices and games, so he should have a better feel for what T.O. does in certain situations. With Williams he's still trying to get a feel for his strengths and weaknesses. Plus, Jason Garrett is probably still trying to figure out exactly what routes Williams runs best and how to maximize his talent. Williams has talent. We know that. Now, everyone has to figure out how to use it.
