Help me understand why that would make him run routes with less urgency, today and all season? And as I write, he did just catch an easy TD (coverage looked weak).
He's a pathetic excuse for a WR. The sooner the Cowboys move on, the better off they'll be. How about his 20% effort on Witten's catch and run just before Roy caught his TD? If he actually gave a crap and ran at more than a speed walk pace, he likely gives Witten the block he needs to break that for another 10 yards and a touchdown. What a complete waste of talent.
I've always said that nobody looks more like a prototypical WR standing on the sidelines in full pads than Roy Williams. He just looks like a WR... as long as he isn't being asked to do anything a WR might be asked to do during the course of a game.
I think we've discussed this ad nauseum in here (I remember saying it when the Lions traded him) but the guy doesn't have the separation to be an elite every down NFL WR. He should be used as more of a specialty player coming on the field and being given a package for stuff inside the 30. He is a world class high jumper and has great body control and decent hands. But if you expect him to be effective between the 20s I just don't think it is possible.
