This year my local league changed a bunch of stuff, one being moving from serpentine to auction draft.

Typically, every year, we allow the toilet bowl winner to pick first. This year, we moved to an auction draft (had about half the league meet at the end of last year, all were invited). We changed the payouts to pay $50 for winning the TB and I talked with the co-commish and we decided to give the TB winner from last year $20 extra $$ to bid with this year to gie him the best chance to get the #1 pick...

I thought it was the best way to go about it because, out of all the rule changes, that is the only person that really gets screwed from last year to this year. (TB winner has got first pick for 5 years now)

We have a dude complaing that once won the TB... How would you handle it?

You really should revert to an auction for the 2008 season, not this year. The only other thing you can do is award extra auction dollars. That guy can now afford to spend $20 more on LT than anyone else-- or he can save that money and spread it around. That's not really unfair.

I do agree that rewarding failure is a bad idea in a fantasy league. Then again, he did WIN the toilet bowl, so it's not as bad as coming in last. But teams should be rewarded for finishing higher, not lower. That way even if they're not going to win the title, they can improve next year's fortunes (and help the quality of play) by finishing strong and doing their best.

Toilet Bowls are important to keep the league competitve throughout the fantasy season. Have to give the guy something for winning last year.

It's meant to be a fun league, thats why we give the winner of the toilet bowl something, they dont just give up once week 14 starts.
