Cedric Benson to Indianapolis Colts is what I'm hearing here in the Chicago area this morning. Radio station is reporting Cedric Benson put his house up for sale last week, and that Marlin Jackson was spotted at the Bears facility recently meeting with Lovie Smith and staff.

I thought drafting Addai was the wrong move for the Colts. Wonder how hard it would have been to swing a deal to trade up to get Maroney/Williams.

My guess would be that while bad franchises try to cover up their mistakes, good ones try to fix them?Maybe they rolled the dice on Addai, but after mini-camps realize that he's not the answer this year.

I don't know. Just speculatin' about a hypothesis.

Although IMHO it would make far more sense for the Colts to trade for T.Jones if they really believe in the RB they selected in the 1st round, and that would make more sense for Chicago as well.

How much cap space do they have? Seriously, if they have $20M in cap space or something, it's feasible under the cap. I'm just having trouble figuring out what they'd get in return though. The only thing that the Colts have to offer that's outstanding would be a WR, but Harrison's old and Wayne was just signed for a big contract, plus the Bears seem happy with their young WR's and would probably like to see them develop. Any draft pick(s) from the Colts promise to be in the bottom half of the round. I also note Grid's comment about such a move putting TJ into the drivers seat for a new contract.

This just doesn't make much sense.

Before the draft okay. The bears would have loved another 1st round pick + a player.

But they just draft Addai, and then trade for Benson? Doesn't make a ton of sense after the draft. They'd have to give up some nice players.

I do agree getting Jones locked up and trading Benson makes sense. But Indy just burned a 1st round pick. They'd probably have to give a 1st for next year, plus a nice player. Ehhh. Can't see it.
