I agree, but I do like his attitude. He just keeps plugging away and I find myself rooting for him more and more.Good God. Short of hauling Jason Campbell outside, shooting him in the head, and feeding his corpse to pigs Brick Top style, I can't imagine any more ways in which they could show their dissatisfaction towards him.![]()
I do too. I wouldn't blame him at all if he had a successful year and opted to sign elsewhere next year as a UFA. He's a good guy. He just needs to become a good QB, and kudos to him for keeping his eye on the ball and remaining focused upon that.I agree, but I do like his attitude. At its core, it's a business, so this "respect" business gets overblown. That said, if Campbell has a solid year this year (and I do expect him to improve), I don't see how this team has any right to think it can resign him next offseason when he's a UFA. Respect has to be earned, and IMHO you don't have to suck up to him given that he really hasn't proven that he can be a franchise QB to this point. OTOH, you have to recognize that there are human relationships involved and keep your options open in the event that he breaks out this year.Man, the Redskins sure are disrespectful towards Jason Campbell.

This year will be huge for him because he'll have been in the same offensive system for two years with no significant changes to personell/players, something he hasn't seen since he's been there. If he's ever going to be regarded as a strong starting QB, this season is his (probably last) chance to prove it.Campbell unfairly imo....gets too much blame for the Redskins problems.
Probably just going hunting, much better hunting up in MD compared to Mississippi I'm sure...Several people are texting in Bret sightings to WJFK saying they are seeing him in town around Redskins Park. FYI.
They could trade him a team who doesn't what a QB is(like the Bears).Good God. Short of hauling Jason Campbell outside, shooting him in the head, and feeding his corpse to pigs Brick Top style, I can't imagine any more ways in which they could show their dissatisfaction towards him.![]()

It's long been stated in D.C. that the most popular guy in town (aside from the President) is the Redskins' backup QB. It's been an ongoing theme even when times were generally good for the team, dating back to Sonny Jurgenson and Billy Kilmer, but including Kilmer-Theismann; Theismann-Schroeder; Schroeder-Williams; Williams-Rypien; Shuler-Frerotte; Brad Johnson-Jeff George; Ramsey-Wuerffel-Matthews; Ramsey-Brunell; Brunell-Campbell; and now Campbell-Cutler/Sanchez/Favre/?????????. Campbell is neither great nor awful, and while the onus is on him to continue to improve as a QB, that offense has a couple of other problems that are or should be of greater concern than Campbell.I'm obviously an outsider in regards to the Redskins, but has he really been given a fair shake? Hasn't he has a different offense/coorndinator every (other) year? I would imagine that he hasn't been given the greatest opportunity to grow.At its core, it's a business, so this "respect" business gets overblown. I don't think it does. Businesses that manage their employees well don't bring in retired vice presidents to #### with current ones. IIRC, this was true for him in college as well.I'm obviously and outsider in regards to the Redskins, but has he really been given a fair shake? There is no single, clear-cut argument about Campbell one way or the other. Yes, he's had different coordinators, but this gets overblown. Gibbs' system used the same terminology as Saunders' system. Moreover, Campbell had played in the WCO for a year (a very successful year, BTW) in college before Zorn came. Yes the offensive line has had problems, but he has admittedly also struggled to make quick reads and release the ball fast enough at times even when the blocking was good. Yes his WR's have not been a great group as a whole, but he's got an excellent TE in Cooley and there are games when the WR's have been running open (most notoriously the Cincy game last year) and he wasn't hitting them or even apparently seeing them. Yes he avoids INT's, but he also doesn't take enough chances on making plays that would open up the offense. And on and on. This is what is frustrating about Campbell - even after four years we're still left to wonder about just what he's capable of.I like Campbell and I want him to succeed. Others do not and have given up on him. Pretty much everyone agrees that this is a make or break year for him though. By the end of this year he'll definitely have been in the league and been the starter long enough for him to have shown that he's got what it takes to hold down a starting QB job or not.I'm obviously and outsider in regards to the Redskins, but has he really been given a fair shake? Jay Cutler told me you have it all wrong! At its core, it's a business, so this "respect" business gets overblown.
Who is this Bret Farve you speak of?Several people are texting in Bret sightings to WJFK saying they are seeing him in town around Redskins Park. FYI.
And Campbell is handling it 100X better than Cutler handled his "so called" disrespect.Man, the Redskins sure are disrespectful towards Jason Campbell.
Lots of promise for an expansion franchise here.So if Favre comes out of retirement, does that mean his buddy Madden will, too?
I'm not saying you're wrong. On the other hand, Campbell doesn't have the leverage Cutler does. Cutler knew he would have suitors falling over themselves for him, I'm not sure Campbell would be guaranteed of a starting job in a trade save for a select few, bad, teams. And Campbell is handling it 100X better than Cutler handled his "so called" disrespect.Man, the Redskins sure are disrespectful towards Jason Campbell.
As fans, should the "respect" to Campbell really matter? Whereas I think the "Cassel is better than Cutler" argument was, at best, a 50/50 proposition, can anyone argue that Mark Sanchez or Jay Cutler or even a healthy Brett Favre wouldn't be better than Campbell? Has the guy shown himself to be anything more than decidedly average?
The guy is painfully mediocre.Dan Snyder tinkers with his team too much, but I can't blame him for wanting a new QB.lol, this is a running joke with the Junkies. Maybe Snyder could sleep with his wife or something...This is just getting plain ridiculous. Why not give Campbell 2 straight seasons with the same coordinators/offense and see what he can do before we cut him loose?I think a decent argument can be made that Campbell may be better than Sanchez or Favre at this point. He has proven he can play and compete in the NFL, which is more than Sanchez can say. Brett Favre did not do anything in NY last year to make me think he is a better QB than Campbell at this stage in their careers. Campbell may be decidedly average but at least it is known. Sanchez could be the next Joe Montana or he could be the next Alex Smith. It should also be noted that Campbell has had to learn a new system virtually every year he has played in the NFL.As fans, should the "respect" to Campbell really matter? Whereas I think the "Cassel is better than Cutler" argument was, at best, a 50/50 proposition, can anyone argue that Mark Sanchez or Jay Cutler or even a healthy Brett Favre wouldn't be better than Campbell? What other choice does Campbell have? And Campbell is handling it 100X better than Cutler handled his "so called" disrespect.Man, the Redskins sure are disrespectful towards Jason Campbell.
Send Campbell to Jets. Him and Clemons can tag team the rookie up there. After all they both experianced the Favre show! Snyder plus Favre makes since but I find this hard to beleive becaue I know what a torn bicep feels like and he has to get that fixed to have a shot at playing this year!Good God. The afternoon show on ESPN980, however, is hosted by some pretty cynical and knowledgeable guys who get wind of things pretty early (Polian and Czaban). There was no mention of this on their show on my ride home.I think the rumor is a load of crap. The midday show on WJFK isn't hosted by the sharpest knives in the drawer and their listeners are definitely the types who would make up rumors. They'd easily fall for something like this and report the text messages without doing any research themselves. They were apparently tricked the other day by a website that said the Redskins traded with the Jets for Sanchez.
It wasn't them though. It was the Big O and Duke's Show. They had multiple sources text in sightings. Could easily be an organized prank though.I'm actually relieved.lol, this is a running joke with the Junkies. You have to be an excellent QB, and have stones the size of Mars to even think of pulling off what Cutler and his agent did. He may not have Cutler's trade value, but he has trade value. Then what? Back up Ben Roethlisberger for half his current wage?
